I have all but three songs mastered the way that sound awesome to me. I have three songs that are just giving me fits with the EQing. I don't really know what to try, so I am stepping back and looking at this different ways. It's helped on the other songs.

If I cannot get these songs to where I want them, I can always remix and try to correct some of the problems there. With the project only being 10 songs, I can't really afford to cut anything now.

I am down to mastering ONE song now. I am very pleased with what I currently have of the other 9 songs.

I think both Sabidoo and Topshot will be pleased with the sound. I have the bass drum and bass a bit more prominent in the mix, and the guitars not so harsh. It is amazing what proper EQing will do!

I've been working on the last song off and on all day. I think I might have it. I want to listen to a copy of the whole project to see how it sounds as a whole.

Great news, now you know what the next question is don't you?
How are you planning on selling them? (or have you figured it out yet)?

I will be home for 2 days next week if you need extra ears. Call me and we'll make plans.

I'm planning on several fronts of attack this time. First of all, I will be adding the MP3s to my MySpace page through Snocap. I can start selling them as soon as I get everything converted and uploaded (probably next week).

Also, I may have the MP3s available at Amazon.com.

As for CDs, I am thinking of two different versions. Amazon has a new service that would allow me to have pro CD-Rs (just like my last one) with full color artwork with no investment whatsoever. They just print one out and mail it when someone orders. That keeps me from having to have a physical inventory. All I have to do is design the covers and upload everything. They do the rest. The discs can be sold through a web store that you set up. For an additional fee, you can sell them through Amazon as well.

On the home front, though, I think I am going to have a more simplistic, slim line case with just front artwork. The song titles (typical back cover) would appear on the inside facing the CD. Lyrics and such would go inside the 4 panel insert. I need to talk to Fundy about this before I do these, however. These would be used to sell/give away at shows at a cheaper price than a normal CD. I could also put these up for sale at CD Baby at a later date.

That's what I'm looking at right now. Seems to be a really good, low cost way to promote/sell/distribute my music. I'll also be adding PureVolume and Shoutlife pages. If I can sell MP3s through there, then I probably will.

What a cool idea to sell MP3s of the new CD on MySpace.
I am oldfashioned. I would like to order a real CD with a front and back cover.
To read the lyrics when I listen to the new Mission Of One makes me so very happy.
I think to sell your CD on this way works much better then to print the CD and sell when people are interested.
The distribution of this CD is wider and I think to sell MP3's is a good case Very Happy

I am so looking forward to listen how the end result of the long expected self titled CD of Mission Of One sounds.

Yippeeee the release of the CD is so near now. cheers

If I do the two different versions, the lyrics will probably be a part of either set. Of course, there just would not be as much artwork with the slimline release.
