I have been asked by one of our local schools to come and sing for a classroom of 2nd graders. The teacher knows that I primarily do music with Christ-centered themes, and she's cool with whatever I do. I've sang for her class the last two years! Anyway, I'd like to have y'alls prayers in the morning at 9 AM CST when I hit Southside Elementary with just me and my acoustic guitar! And, be watching for potential ACLU lawsuits against the county! (Hopefully not, but it could happen!)

That is something I don't understand.

The ACLU is a group of lawyers that like to sue over anything. If someone gets offended that I am singing Christian songs in a public school funded by federal $$$, then there is always the potential for a lawsuit against the Wilson County school board. But, they asked me to come!

Here's the songs I've prepared--I always over prepare just so I have plenty of songs to pull from:

The Cartoon Song (the Chris Rice song complete with all the cartoon impersonations)

Sing Hosanna (it's a kids song, and they're 2nd graders!)
Lord, I Lift Your Name On High
There's A Hole In The Bottom Of the Sea (it gets pretty silly as you keep adding things to the hole.........There's a smile on the flea on the hair on the wart on the frog on the knot on the log in the hole in the bottom of the sea......)

I'm sure the kids love the last song.

It went great! The kids were just happy to have something special going on at school. Most of these children must have families involved in a local church because the knew most of the words. Well, except for the two of mine that I did, I would guess that 80% of the 50 kids knew these songs!

They especially liked "The Cartoon Song", "Sing Hosanna", "Lord I Lift Your Name On High", and "Hole In the Bottom of the Sea". The teacher who invited me, Ms. Connie Edwards, said that we'd have to do this again next year. So, that will make it four years in a row!

The Cartoon Song is a perinial kids favorite (I like it too).

Glad to hear it went well, I was too late to pray for your performance, but I will pray that the ACLU doesn't get ahold of you.
