What do you get when you merge Metallica and Bride?
You get Killed By Cain.
A gifted band with John Warren, vocals, guitarist Tont Bowling, bassist Steve Curtsinger, (ex Bride), drummer Stephan Rolland.
The only self titled album "Killed By Cain" contains excellent power metal were sounds through thrash as sleaze.
REX is responsible for this release and it was Dale Thompson who produced this album.
"Killed By Cain" was released in 1993.
I am afraid this is an "hard to find" album or an out of print album.

Traded some credit to find out how Killed By Cain sounds.
When you like it I'll give a review when I get the CD.

I like the CD, with Jezebel being my favourite track. Not a frequent player, but I'm glad it's in my collection.

I have a copy of it on cassette (that I think I got for free). I can't listen to the whole album at once because the singers voice drives me bonkers.

The only song I remember having any kind of fondness for was "Sin City" (if I am remembering that correctly).

I was curious how Killed By Cain sounds.
When I don't like the CD I always can trade it.
Gary is Killed By Cain "bonkers" music?

bonkers = insane or crazy

I don't think it is terrible, but the singer just tends to give me a headache after a couple of songs.

I always liked this band. The singer just reminds me of Axl Rose singing for a different band. I like the more groove metal thing that Killed By Cain is doing. The voice isn't what I would have picked for this band, but it still seemed to work pretty well.

I don't get the Metallica comparison. They were much closer to Bride's bluesy metal sound. I loved the music, but the singer was atrocious. The band had real potential and Dale Thompson tried to get them noticed, but I imagine the vocals turned too many people off. Yes, they were that bad.

Now I am curious to find out how Killed By Cain sounds.
When I am poof gone here for awhile, you know the "bonkers music" of Killed By Cain drives me nuts.
I see Chris likes this band and Gary and Follower are not really Killed By Cain fans.

It shows me how important a vocalist can be.
When you like his vocals you like the band.
If you don't like the vocalist of a band you seem not to like the band.
Same story with "Crime Scene Earth" you like the vocals of Richard Lynch.

It's been a long time since I listened to this but if i recall correctly Dale sings on one of the songs and to me it was the only good thing about it.

Yeah, this was a very forgettable disc.
They tried to mix a Pantera type groove with some GNR style and messed it up horribly because this band was far below the caliber of either of those bands to begin with.

Same here, I always liked the disc. It's a pretty good listen from time to time. Then again I like most of the Christian hard rock from the 80's and early 90's.

Gosh I haven't played this one in ages and ages. I might have to dig it out and spin it again. I seem to recall there were a few decent songs on it but it wasn't anything special at all.
