Ok, so there I was just thinking (a strange thing to happen to me, but hey!) and a came upon the God given benefit of prayer. Now, when we prayer we often ask for something, some kind of benefit for us but sometimes when we get an answer to our prayers in the way we want them we then don't thank God for the answer very much at all. Say we pray everyday for a year for something to happen, then when it does we say "thanks" once and then move on to the next thing.
I was wondering, as God is outside of time, maybe it's not just the prayers of asking that He's looking out for, but also the thanks after the prayers have been answered. Maybe if we don't thank Him afterwards He sometimes doesn't give us what we want.
So, maybe if we want a new house and keep praying for it, but God doesn't give us a new house, it's because God knows that once we'd get the house we wouldn't have said thank you in the same way that we prayed when we wanted it.
Obviously this is a question we can't answer, and I don't think it would ever be (if it were true) the case that it would happen all the time, but what does everyone else think of that idea.
