| It seems he is using "universalism" in a broader sense than I have seen before. I have heard this called "emergant Christianity" as well. Some very interesting quotes in this article. | Quote: | A recent Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life suggests this. Now atheism remains very unpopular as Americans do believe in God to the tune of 92 percent. It's just that they don't know exactly what they believe about God, so they are willing to go with the idea that, "Hey, everybody's in."

I see that quite a bit, living out here on the West Coast (very liberal area).
| Quote: | | If you reject the Bible, that is your right -- I'm just saying let's not twist and distort what the New Testament explicitly teaches about the exclusivity of Jesus. |
I think that is the part that bothers me the most. Be muslim, or jewish, or hindu if you want. But if your going to call yourself a Christian at least have the conviction to actually believe the "entire" bible.
| Quote: | | If this trend of universalism impacting the church continues, there will be no Christian influence of any consequence in America in 25 years. |
I bet it will take less time than that. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."
