| pray for us this morning. I am preaching today as well as playing at the Wilson Co. Fair. The church is one I formerly attended and have filled in for a few times in the past few weeks. I cannot go into more information, but know that the church is having some MAJOR internal conflict, and it looks like it might all just blow up today. I know what I believe God has asked me to preach, and it will be aimed at these situations without getting into particulars or naming names. Holly & I need your prayers! Also, with the fair show, there are atheist groups that are to be protesting the fair today due to their "God & Country" promotion that allows churchgoers to bring their church bulletin and get $2 off the admission. Although the fair board has made arrangements for any religious affiliation (or lack thereof) to partake of the discount, these groups are going to be protesting the whole "God & Country" theme because they believe it violates that unwritten separation of church & state. Since the fair is held on county property, these groups feel that religion is being forced upon others. But, the county leases this property out to a private firm who stages the fair each year. This is a private promotion! Anyway, the set I am doing is mostly worship songs that you'd use in church and a few original tunes. So, I am sure that we will offend some people, but I am prepared to sing praise to the Lord right in the middle of that fairground! _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. |

| Both of the services went well. The pastor that I've been filling in for has now officially resigned. I'm not sure what the future holds for the congregation or any future involvement we might have, however. For now, I'll just rest knowing that I spoke what I felt I should. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. |

| Glad to hear your sermon went well (I felt sure you would do great). But know we wanna know about the gig. Was it hot outside? Did you get to bean any protestors with the gospel? What song did you do the big accordian solo for? _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| AS for the protestors, I am SEVERELY disappointed. Nothing like several atheist groups promising to protest and then not showing up. I did see a lot of people wearing shirts with Christian slogans on them, though! I guess once the fairground offered a discount to pretty much anyone on Sunday that there was nothing to protest. It was pretty warm outside, but the stage was well in the shade. We had a good breeze blowing, too. We played for about 1 hr. and 40 mins. Being at the fairgrounds, your audience comes and listens for a few songs and then moves on. Then, new people come in to listen for a while. So, even though the faces in the crowd kept changing, I guess we had a constant crowd of around 30-35 people. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. |
