| hey guys, whew I haven't been on in awhile but it's just insane how quickly this summer seems to have gone by. So awhile back I got Chris' new Mission of One Cd & promised to eventually give some feedback so here it is... 1. Surrender: Love the lead guitar intro in this, you know it's going to be good when your pumped to listen 15 seconds into the song. Also the lyrics really match the music which is something I think a lot of artists lack. What I mean is the music in this, kind of makes me picture going on a roadtrip with my friends your really excited to see what's up ahead on the road but at the same time your holding onto the moment and just chillin with what's thrown at you which i think is kind of what it feels like when you do surrender all to God. Your excited to see what he has planned for you but you also want to make sure you hang on to the feelings of the present sorta chillin with God. 2. Give In To Him: heheh this intro totally makes me think of "You Know What to do" from Unforsaken. Again wicked message and great music. 3. Man Overboard: I like this tune. My only comment would be on the vox. For some reason i find them a bit more muffled/stuffy than I did on the previous 2 tracks and i am actually finding .it hard to grasp the lyrics when I listen to it, but no biggy because the lyrics are in the liner notes The ones thing that's really cool about all of the music is you can practically feel the passion that's pouring out over the licks, keeps me hooked. 4. I Will Worship You: love this. love love love it. love the range of Chris' vocals in this (awesome down low, wish I could hit those notes! ), love the clarity, and love the ballad-ish feel of it. 5. He's Been Good To Me: This is kind of a neutral tune for me. Not my favorite mostly because it's just not entirely my style musically (makes me want to head bang, eek) but absolutely no complaints either. 6. Be Yourself: Nice effect on the guitar in this at the start, brings some sweet variation to the table. Also this is probably one of my favorites lyrically so far. lines like "when you compare yourself to the bible dudes" now that is original lol cool. 7. Are You Listening: So this is the first track where I've reeaaalllly noticed dynamics. and I like what I hear (Yupp I'm listening ). It really adds to the depth of the message when you can build on the volume until you hit the climax and then soften everything up a bit at the end. well done. 8. The End: I love the lead guitar here, funky. 9: I'd Do It All Again: The lyrics in this are so intense and once again the music matches. I really think Chris has a gift when is comes to composition. Also for some reason this was one of the only tunes where I really noticed the bass , some cool bass lines and there's nothing more that i like than a bassist to just rock out. 10: I fall Down: What, the end of the CD?! awww.... Such a good way to end lyrically and I also like that the end was one of the softer tunes, it always bugs me when a CD ends with a really hard and heavy tune and then bam that's it the end *silence* this way you wind down a bit. this is a really touching song for me, well done. Okay so overall comments, Mission of One has got some talent no doubt about that. Musically the only real critisism I might have is to look for a bit of variation in the drums... could have been just me but I sometimes felt like I was listening to pretty much the same pattern on every track. At the same time I don't have too much experiance with this style of music and I do think that even if there is a sameness to it the drumming fits all of the songs. Lyrics: deep, powerful, need I say more? Overall Fantastic piece of work. Beth | |

| Thanks for the kind words, Beth! Just don't let Sabidoo read the drum critique. You think he's weird now--just wait until his ego is deflated! _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

That's why every country song sounds the same. _________________ "If you are not concerned about your neighbor's salvation, you should be concerned about your own."

| I'd hate to be you guys when Sabidoo shows up...... Actually, as a drummer myself, I'll tell you a little secret....... We pretty much play the same thing to everything.... But then again, 90% of all guitar licks are just blues scales anyways, so........ |

| lol uh-oh I see a battle of the instruments coming on. It's interesting though, looking at the drums because it has to be tough to A) keep time and B) add colour. I actually often find it very hard to find variation in rock drums because I'm so used to jazz where they are not responsible for keeping time, that's the bassist's job and the drums are to make things colourful. Anyways... If anyone is looking for me I'll be hiding under a rock when Sabidoo shows up :albino: , better yet under his bass drum, he won't expect me there | |

| As a bass player, I can honestly say that no two songs sound the same on bass. Well, they probably do, but no one listens to the bass anyway.

| I've said it before, and I'll say it again: It ain't a band without the bass! Don't believe me? Remember The Doors? | The Doors were great - what are you talking about? Same goes for Minier. _________________ "If you are not concerned about your neighbor's salvation, you should be concerned about your own."

| The Doors....great? Those words shouldn't even be in the same sentence! As for Minier, he downtuned a guitar and played it without distortion to get the bass tones. Could have saved some time by borrowing a bass and playing those lines the standard way. Besides, those are fringe artists. Name almost any household name band, and you're gonna find a bass player filling in the holes between the drums, keys, and guitars.
