How does it go with mixing the songs for the self titled Mission Of One.? Are you content about the results? Or are there things to improve? I am curious to hear how this CD sounds, to listen to the other songs you have chozen. To hear how much better the CD souns now you have new gear to record.

I've been working on the mix, but this is the part where I really need to go slow and do a good job. Recording isn't that difficult (in my opinion, anyway). But, mixing the sounds that you have captured takes time to really do right. I don't want to settle for "close" this time. I want it right! _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution.

My deadline is simply to get it finished. No rushes. I do have ONE song with a final mix, though. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution.

No rushes really works. Like Staybrite already told there's no deadline. But to work releaxed on the mixing is more important.

I'll probably go with Peak Productions again. The owner used to post a lot at CMR, and does all of the newer Retroactive Records stuff. Plus, he's affordable. Most of the mastering houses in Nashville are outlandish! _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution.

| I have seen that name quite a bit over at the CMR (at least at the old one). They did a great job with the last cd. Looking forward to hearing the new one. Are you gonna do the pro cdr reproduction thing again? Have you thought about taking preorders? -- _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

I don't know for sure how I am packaging this. I would like to go with full blown artwork again, but the cost just isn't worth it without a full band to really go out and play live. I may do pro CD-Rs, but just do slimline cases with a really good front insert with lyrics included. I won't make up my mind about that until closer to being finished with mixing. I still only have two finished. I keep redoing and redoing songs, but seem to not like my finished mix. So, tomorrow I am going to work for 2 hours, and then take a break. Then, I'll go back for two hours. Hopefully, this will keep my ears fresh and help me to get more done faster. This is the hardest, and most frustrating, part of the whole music creation process. I find it quite nerve racking! _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution.

| Fortunately I've never had to do any mixing. I don't think I would like it. I would probably really stink at it as well. | Quote: | I may do pro CD-Rs, but just do slimline cases with a really good front insert with lyrics included. I used to really dislike the slimline cases, but I don't mind them so much anymore. I really like the fact that they don't take as much room. My cd storage space will only hold about 300 discs, but my collection is around 400. So some of them are in bags. I would be kinda nice to have them all in slimline cases, but that would make it difficult to find stuff because there is no spine to read. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... The last batch of Cds I sent to you were in slimline cases. They are about half the thickness of a standard jewel case, but they will only allow you to put in a front cover (no back cover). -- _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

I didn't do much today. I went and bought some new stands for my monitors so that I can hear better. I did try one song, but I haven't listened to the mix I tried in mytruck stereo yet. If it sounds great in my truck, then the mix is good. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution.

Does that helps you now you've bought new stands for you monitors? Then your truck is the final test if the songs you've mixed are good. Hope you can mix more songs when you are off from work.

I got off work early today and thought I'd work in the studio. But, God had other plans when He sent this massive lightning storm! So, I shut down everything to keep from getting my equipment zapped! Even with good power strips that can handle many joules of lightning, you can still have lightning run in and destroy your equipment if you're powered up. I might try again later, or I might just watch a couple of movies. Well, that is, if the power stays on long enough.......... _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution.
