| What is happening to this country? It seems like everything is going bad, like the stock and all the gas prices and just everything, don't get me wrong I know that nobody knows when the world will end. But it just seems like the things that are happening lately are sign from God that time is running out. What do you think? Input would be great.
This is just what has been going through my mind for the past couple of days. |

| I don't think it means the end, but I think it could be a sign of the times. People are likening it to the 1929 crash, and possilby worse, but I think as most people are better off now than then we'll all be okay. Biblically I think we'll never know if it's the end or not, just because before the event it's always difficult to tell. In heinsite it probably is as obvious as the day is long, but at present I think it is best just to hold on to our hats and wait and see. In everything all we need to do is look up. Sometimes we get worried about the world scene thinking that everything is going wrong, but we need to remember that God is in charge and that He knows what's happening, what's going to happen, when it will happen, and why it will happen. | I think that what we are seeing is nothing more than the effects of greed. Corrupt politicians pass bills allowing banks to make questionable loans. The banks start losing money when the housing market slows. The banks shift assets to European holding partners to make it look like they are collapsing. The stock market begins to drop like a rock BEFORE the gov't. can pass a bill to take our tax dollars and socialize the banking system.
What's weird is that they were promising that the economy would collapse without a bailout plan. The stock market dropped 777 points in a day. But, after Congress failed to pass the buyout plan, the stock market jumps over 500 point the next day. No one is guaranteed to make money on the stock market. I think a free economy is just tossing out some bad apples. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. |

| It's not only in the US. Here the economy is not very stable too. We have high gas prices too and the high Euro makes it all more expensive. It can be one of the first signs you can read about in Revelations. But the greed of people grows to more power, more money. |

| With regards to the financial state we are in (at least the U.S.) this seems to happen every 15 to 30 years (stick around you will see it again). Black Monday (Oct 19, 1987) saw huge drop in the stock exchange (508 points) it was less then our current drop but actually higher in percentage. It took several years to recover (without a ridiculous bail-out) and adversly impacted stock markets and economies all over the world. If you account for inflation, gas was more expensive in the mid 1970's during the oil crisis (but I certainly wouldn't expect you to have known that). So all of these "troubles" are relative. And they are also getting over-blown by the media. Try not to worry drumdude... we will survive. Maybe it is the beginning of the end, but that certainly wouldn't be a bad thing for those who have faith in Christ. | alldatndensum wrote: | | I think that what we are seeing is nothing more than the effects of greed. | It very could well be. That is not anything for us to be worried about, though. If we are truly servants of the most high God, then we already know that Satan was defeated at Christ's resurrection.
When the end comes, it will come. What is important is to not worry, watch the signs of Christ's return, and live everyday like today could be the last. If we walk in Christ's light, then we will not stumble in the darkness--even during the end times when darkness is allowed to deceive in ways that we have yet to imagine. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. |

| What I know is when the time come you can read about in Revelations you don't have to fear. God is mighty and will protect His children. So don't fear. God will bring us safe home. |

that's my take. if it IS the beginning of the 'end,' then Christians should look to the skies and rejoice. Jesus told his disciples not to be troubled by all the signs that would come. that's because he knows we'll be taken care of. that's not to mean that some of these troubles wont touch our lives, but we'll be ok.
now is the time to wrap yourself in your faith and not waiver. it's going to be alright. |
