I bet if Sabidoo didn't have to keep replacing those Bridgestone tires, he could give quite a bit.

Now there is a flame-war/joke that everyone was hoping to forget. But thanks to topshot and his "memory like an elephant", we get to relive it.

Cool Campus Life has a building to start.
What's the next step you have to take?
I'm sure it asks a lot of preparations to be ready for the first meeting.
Now Campus Life will start in Wilson County does that mean the staff of CL will support you in the meetings, or you have to start this independent of the CL team in the other county?

What are my next steps?

1) Meeting with my local director and regional director on Wednesday. I have a lot more questions, and they have a lot more info for me. They also have a lot of great pointers on how to launch a successful group.

2) Getting the Campus Life logo changed a little bit for our group and getting MySpace & Facebook pages up.

3) Getting fliers into the hands of as many kids as possible and as many youth pastors in the area as possible

4) Getting press releases about Campus Life coming to Watertown in our local newspapers.

I'm tired just from thinking!!!

That's why I pray for you.

Ask if you can spread the Campus Life flyers at the High Schools in the neighborhood of Watertown.
Maybe the teens from your youth group can be helpful.

Give me some fliers and I will put them up and hand them out at school.

I have already told the quarter back of our football team, he's is a great christian guy and he said he would help spread the news about it all.

If you talk to the preacher up at Round Lick Baptist, Alldat, you will for sure get a big group of kids. Their youth has like 60 kids.

Getting kids there is important, but we really want more than just Christian kids. If we aren't bringing non-Christian kids into this group, then we have failed before we begin. Campus Life isn't supposed to be just another youth group meeting. It is a place where we can talk about real issues affecting teens from a Biblical perspective. While we will be praying for the salvation of everyone who attends, we won't be pushing that on them like most of our churches do. We will talk to them about making good decisions, setting achievable goals, thinking about the consequences of our actions, etc. while laying a foundation of who Christ is. If unsaved kids perceive this to be just another church meeting, then they will flee and never return.

That's a very good goal.
I hope many non Christians kids will find the open doors of Campus Life in Watertown.

Just so you all can see what I have constructed, take a look at the new MySpace page for Campus Life H2O!

Just so you know, the town I live in is Watertown--thus the H2O part. The local high school's mascot is a tiger, and the school colors are purple and white. So, I think the background is appropriate.

The slideshow I uploaded was created by my wife Holly. She did it in a PDF format, and I converted it to jpeg to upload to MySpace. Cool, huh?

Wow that's a lot of purple. Looks cool, makes me wish I was a teenager again (well not really, but you know what I mean).
Thumbs Up

Due to the gift of an anonymous donor, it looks like I'll have the funds to have a great kickoff! Right now, we are planning on serving pizza to the area teens for the opening night! I think we can draw a crowd with just free pizza. Teens love pizza, right?

So, now I need to get fliers designed, a press release to the local paper (Watertown Gazette), and get some pizzas ordered!

I sw your design, and it was okay. But, with us doing the pizza night, I really need to use that as the main draw. Also, I need the print to be a lot more "fun" looking.

I bought a pack of orange paper that we'll print those fliers on. I'll send them to school and also see if area businesses will allow us to place them on their counters or windows like the people who are having the teen dances on the weekends are. Also, there will be a short article in the Feb. 4 Watertown Gazette. We were in the last one in the minutes from the Alderman's meeting from December.
