How cool to start with a pizza opening.
Yep, teens love pizza's and coke or pepsi.

It's cool to read how things go with the preparations for CLH20.

I was thinking the same thing about the whole design that it was kinda boring I just didn't really know what to do with it.

That really sounds good though, the things that you are putting together, alldat.

Tonight is our big kickoff! I am so excited!

We've had a lot of good response to the story in our local paper. We've had a lot of interest shown. I know of several area teens coming and inviting friends. So, I don't know how many will be in attendance, but I know God has brought us this far. So, I am expecting Him to supply the people as well.

We've also put up fliers in a few places around town. Several kids have used smaller versions to invite their friends at school. We've even sent letters and fliers to local churches to help get more kids involved and gain church support in the future. But, I am guessing that the "word of mouth" is our best advertising.

So, even though I've got a ton of things to do today to get ready, I know that God has everything under control. I still have a case of the butterflies, but that is just Satan trying to scare me. My God is bigger, Satan. Get over it!

I think the Bible verses of today, that you posted, fit right in here.

Yes, our God is bigger than satan is.
He keeps attacking us but he knows he never and never will win because we serve a mighty God in who all things are possible.

Um.....thanks? lol!

I just want what God gives us. I want Him to completely blow my mind as to what He can do. All I've done so far is follow His lead, and He has really taken the reigns with this thus far!

Last night's kickoff, to me, was a success! Without much promotion other than word of mouth and an article in our local paper, we had 21 kids show up and around parents. We even had one lady who came and was wanting to recommend Campus Life to her grandkids but would not until she knew more about it. After the meeting, she said she would definitely recommend us to her grandkids and the whole church!

Ok, I got a little overzealous ordering pizza. We had a ton left over. But, a couple of girls there last night had to leave for a late basketball practice. So, Holly took the extras to the girls basketball team at the high school. Several of the girls there had wanted to come, but were only in the 7th grade. So, we're gonna open things up for the 7th grade kids as well.

We all ate a lot of pizza, and I showed a couple of short videos about Campus Life with my laptop and projector. Then we played several games that the kids seemed to like a lot. We played "Drop The Keys", "Protect The President", and "Honey, If You Love Me--You'll Smile". The first two are VERY active and rather competitive games. The last one is just funny and you find out who your shy kids are!

So what are my next steps? Well, all of the kids who gave us a MySpace page will be added as friends. Also, new posters all over town about the new Campus Life H20 group need to go out to area businesses all over town. I want to get a new letter to all the churches around, and start preparing another article for the Watertown Gazette. Man, this is starting like it could seriously cut into my posting time!

When I read all you have to care for now the weekly meetings of CLH20 started
it looks it's a lot of work you have to do.
I think promotion is still very important and to get every week a good program is a big job too.
To get local stores who can support the CLH20 is important too.
Do you have to prepare after each meeting an article for the Watertown Gazette?
Do you get support of the churches in the region around Watertown?
When you need help will Campus Life provide in help or do you have to search help alone?
Is the foundation Campus Life supporting their local "departments"?

God will provide in all you have to do and need to do to make CLH20 sucessful.

CLH20 is often in my prayers.

Well alldat didn't say nothing so I will. We had only five kid's there last night, but some of the ones that came last week got stuck at a basketball game either cheering or playing, others just didn't come. But tonight is the last basketball game so there will be no more basketball in the way of the meetings.

So please keep CL H2O in your prayers that we may grow and spread the word in Gods time.

PostSubject: Re: Campus Life   Wed Feb 18, 2009 10:27 am

I haven't really been on the computer since Monday night. Sorry.....

tim is correct--we only had 5 show up Monday night and 3 of them came in nearly 40 minutes late. So, my games were pretty much shot. So, I showed the video I wanted to show, and then we dismissed.

It was a pretty disheartening experience. I was hoping for at least half of the kids I had with the kickoff. I've always been the type that would get discouraged easily and just quit. I did it with karate lessons and with band in high school. I've almost been that way with my music at times where I just felt like quitting and never looking back. But, with Campus Life, I believe that God opened up too many doors just to slam them in our face. I know it's going to be an uphill battle to get this to fly simply because we stand a chance of giving Satan a black eye. So, I might have taken a fall Monday night, but I'm dusting myself off and getting back in the saddle again. This rodeo is far from over. The devil might have landed a good punch, but I am not down for the count because the Lord says that we are more than conquerors in Him.

So, I am just going to continue putting up fliers around town, sending letters to churches, sending more press releases to the local paper, and maybe even mail invitations to the kids that were not there Monday night to remind them that we're here and wanting to see them return.

Keep praying for us. We'll be starting tonight's meeting in just a little over two hours. We sent all the kids who came the first week a reminder in the mail that we were meeting every week and that we were going to include 7th thru 12th graders. I've got all our activities planned for tonight, and the lesson is a great one on how God hears us.

I'm just praying for more than we had last week.
