The story of Noah is a story of Noah’s trust in God. After
the Flood, Noah and his family had to wait in the ark with only the assurance of
God’s promise to Noah that He would save him and his family and every living
thing in the ark with him. Noah sent out a dove to see if God’s promise was
being performed, but the dove came back because there was no dry land. Seven
days later Noah sent the dove out again. This time it returned with a single
olive leaf--one little indication that God was at work. (See Genesis 6-8.)
Your trust in God is evidenced in many ways, but perhaps it’s revealed
most when God’s answer is not yet something you can see. That’s the time to hold
on to that one olive leaf in faith, believing that God will do what He said He will do.
I hold on in faith believing that God is faithful to keep
His word.
