I'm kind of on a Liparulo kick- just read 'Comes a Horseman' and 'Germ'. Now reading 'Deadlock'. Mr. Liparulo is fast becoming a favorite author.

I've only read "Deadfall" by Liparulo, but I would have to agree he is a good writer.

Nope. 18 year-old is moved out, two remaining are fixin' to turn 13 & 15. When I have spare time, I'm either reading, interwebbin' or playing guitar or bass. And my kids have the gall to tell me I have no life...

Just started reading Blue Like Jazz by Don Miller for a second time. I love how personal his books are, it makes it so much easier to relate the content to my own life Smile

Also have any of you guys read the screwtape letters by C.S. Lewis? I have read the Great Divorce and Mere Christianity and I think the screwtape letters sounds very interesting, though I might end up choosing the four loves...

Talk to TallT about the CS Lewis stuff. I have read "The Screwtape Letters" and "Mere Christianity", but I find Lewis' writing style to be rather dry and boring. But, that's just me.

As for the Donald Miller books, I have read them all thus far. I really enjoyed "Blue Like Jazz". He is rather liberal in his beliefs, but in the end, Christ wins out. Miller illustrates very well that salvation is found only through Christ, but the journey to know Him can be VERY different.

After nearly 30 years of being a bassist, last year a door opened to play guitar on one of our worship teams. Oddly enough, they expect as much lead guitar out of me as rhythm, but my lead is pretty early to mid 70's right now(think Robin Trower or Frank Marino), and I have no way to record myself. Why?

I don't think my lead chops are anywhere near ready for recorded media (I listened to one of our worship services and was NOT impressed with myself), but I do appreciate the thought.

Reading CEs - almost finished. Hafta have 20 units of credit for Pharmacy CEs (Continuing Education) to maintain my CPhT license here in Cali. Every 2 years aint bad, but I always wait till the last month before they're due.
Even though I finally quit pharmacy after 20 years, I think it would be smart to keep my license up to date.
So I've been reading and taking tests on prostates, arthritis, new drugs, and many other exhilerating subjects.

Dude that sounds thrilling! It must be a real page turner.

I remember reading a big section of the International Building Code at work one day, and I actually fell asleep for a few minutes.

We had an autistic teen at our church who read the phone book all the way through.
While everyone's sitting there following through the Bible, he'd be reading a huge phone book.
