| I know several of us have tried Lala for CD swapping. Well, that pond pretty much dried up! But, I just wanted to share a bit about a couple of other swap sites I use.
First up is the new Music Boomerang.
Although it was in beta testing for some time, it is now open to the public. You can swap CDs and decide if you want front art, all art, no art, and whether you will accept promos or not. It only costs $1 per trade, and you pay your own shipping when you send something out. For billing purposes, you will need to set up an Amazon.com account. You can also buy CDs through the links to Amazon. But, buying is not the focus here--trading is!
For DVDs, I use Swap-A-Dvd There, you upload your DVDs (case and artwork is required) and choose your movies based on your wants. There is no cost, but you can purchase shipping through the site. I don't use this one much, but I have gotten rid of a couple of stinkers and got a couple of decent keepers.
My favorite site, however, is PaperBackSwap. I have traded out many books that I just do not think I would ever re-read. I have gotten many titles by authors that I already liked but just had not gotten around to purchasing these books. You can trade paperbacks or hardbacks, and you can even set up requestor conditions so that you get the quality of book you are trading out. For example, if you don't want books from a home with smoking and pet dander, set it up. People will only be allowed to ship to you if they meet those requirements. Again, there is NO cost except for the shipping you pay on outgoing books. You can buy shipping through the site if you prefer. Then, you can ship those books without having to actually go in the Post Office.
If you try any of these, drop me a line there. As on the boards, I am alldatndensum. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. |

| Music Boomerang looks interesting to get rid of the CDs I never listen too. Let me see if Music Boomerang works for me too. Maybe I need a little help. |

| I am not sure if Music Boomerang is open to people outside of the USA. You will have to research that.
As for SwapADvd and PaperBackSwap, those are for USA residents only. There is some talk of expanding internationally, but I don't think that a lot of people want to pay the higher shipping rates to send stuff overseas. Plus, you get into the different region codes on DVDs and possible non-English versions of books. So, I doubt that these will be expanded, but a separate site for Europeans might be a good idea. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. |

| Surely you get some CDs that you wish you hadn't bought? _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. |

| Yeah, but I'm worse than a pack rat. When it comes to DVDs, CDs or computer parts...I don't throw or give away anything, unless I already have double of some particular item. I have over 2000 DVDs, 1500+ music CDs (not counting what my wife and kids own), 900+ video games (gameboy & PSP included) and a garage full of computer parts. |

| Dreams could open his own swapping site. Most DVDs, CDs, etc aren't worth keeping over the long haul. _________________ "If you are not concerned about your neighbor's salvation, you should be concerned about your own."

| I need to check out that cd swapping site. I don't have much in the way of dvd's anymore. I also don't tend to keep paperbacks either. Seems I trade all my books (or give most away) when I'm done reading them. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| You are our first truly international customer, and we're happy to have you.
Wow, maybe at least a site who's happy to have me. |

| Joined MusicBoomerang and asked if this site is for people outside the US too. The answer I got from a guy from MusicBoomerang that I am the first international customer there. So I doubt if I can trade the CDs I want there. Who's so silly to trade CDs with a person outside the US?? |

| All you can do is post the discs you wish to part with and start setting up a wish list. Also, get you an Amazon.com account so that you can have your Music Boomerang fees billed through there. There is a $1 per swap fee for every disc you receive. If people want your stuff, you'll know soon enough. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. |
