| Day 19 | Quote: | For the Obama family to be blessed with meaningful times together regularly These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates...—Deuteronomy 6:6-9(NIV)
Loving Lord, You call us into families and You often use our families to accomplish Your will in our lives—to instruct and nurture children, to care for our elderly and to give us glorious glimpses of Your great love for us. We praise and bless You for this marvelous plan, and for the joy and pleasure our families give us.
We pray today for the Obama family—for President and Mrs. Obama, their daughters Malia and Sasha and Mrs. Obama’s mother, Mrs. Marian Robinson. They are a strong and sound family, and we thank You for their dedication to one another, praying that You will protect their times together. Please keep the demands of the presidency from burdening them or keeping them from loving one another as You have called them to love. Give them great joy and blessing as they adjust to life in the White House, and preserve their strong family identity, I ask in Jesus’ name, amen. |

| Day 20 | Quote: | For Malia and Sasha Obama to be nurtured in their faith daily May Your deeds be shown to Your servants, Your splendor to their children. —Psalm 90:16(NIV)
Your Word declares in Psalm 111, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow His precepts have good understanding. To Him belongs eternal praise.” Almighty God, we do worship You today for this truth, and that as You declare Yourself to us, we are then able to pass along the reality of Your work and presence to our children, to the next generation of believers in You.
Heavenly Father, today we ask You to give Malia and Sasha Obama people who are deeply-rooted in their faith in You who will, in turn, declare to these precious children the reality of who You are, and of what You can accomplish in their lives. Lord, let these girls become mighty women of faith in You, ones who would become world-changers in the footsteps of their parents. Use Barack and Michelle Obama as well, Lord, to nurture trust in You in the lives of their daughters. We ask this, O God, in the name that is above all names; the name of Jesus, amen. |

| Day 21 | Quote: | For Malia and Sasha Obama to be blessed with strong and healthy friendships Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart, and the pleasantness of one's friend springs from his earnest counsel.—Proverbs 27:9(NIV)
Holy Lord, You are a loving God who calls us into relationship, first with Yourself and then with one another. Today I praise and thank You for Your love and friendship in my life, and I bless you for putting in my heart the need to love and be loved. I love You, Holy God with everything in me, everything I am able to summon within myself, I lift in love and worship of You.
I lift before you Malia and Sasha Obama today, asking that You would bless them with strong and deep friendships that encourage them and keep them humble, enriching their lives with great joy and delight. Give them friends who want to know them for who You have made them, and not because of their father’s position. Keep them from negative and dark influences, Lord, and set each of these young women in the midst of godly and Christ-centered circles of influence that will cause them to rely on You in all things. I ask this in Jesus’ loving name, amen. |

| Day 22 | Quote: | For protection and safety for President Obama every moment of every day For He will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.—Psalm 91:11(NIV)
Almighty God, we praise You today for creating angels to be Your ministering spirits to us; that while we cannot see their presence, we can sense their guarding embrace as we remember Your faithful promises from Psalm 91. It overwhelms us to know that You care for us in such an intimate and powerful way.
Therefore, Lord, we also ask now that Your magnificent angels would envelop President Obama, shielding him from physical and spiritual harm. As you do this, O God, let him sense their presence in a way that unquestionably glorifies You and Your individual work in his life. Let this be done, omnipotent Father, in the name of Christ we ask, amen. |

| Day 23 | Quote: | For protection and safety for Michelle Obama every moment of every day You are my hiding place; You will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.—Psalm 32:7(NIV)
Awesome and mighty God, You are great and powerful! You rule on high in majesty and strength. You are omnipotent and omnipresent; nothing can harm You as you reign from Your throne. Your name-and all the strength and authority it implies-is a strong and safe hiding place for those who love you. I worship You today Lord, for Your power and might.
Today, I bring before Your throne our nation's First Lady, Michelle Obama, asking that you surround her with Your holy protection and care. Keep her safe, O Lord, in body, mind and spirit, that she may be able to serve You and Your purposes for her life every day. Protect her from any source of harm, Lord, and keep her in Your care always. I ask this in Jesus' holy name, amen. |

| Day 24 | Quote: | For protection and safety for Malia and Sasha Obama every moment of every day The LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. —Psalm 121:8(NIV)
Lord, I thank and praise You for the rich promises You make in Psalm 121 where You declare again and again through the psalmist Your promise to watch over us. What a joy and privilege it is, Heavenly Father, to realize You are concerned for us and guard us so precisely and attentively. Thank you, God, for Your never-ending love for Your children!
Comforted by Your watchful eye, we also intercede for President and Mrs. Obama’s daughters, Malia and Sasha, asking You to see them and cradle them in Your sure and full protection. As they come and go from school, depart from and arrive again at their rooms in the White House wherever they are, Lord be with these children and keep them safe. May You be glorified as You honor our prayers, Lord, and we give You praise, amen. |

| Day 25 | Quote: | For Mrs. Marian Robinson to be blessed as she takes up residence in the White House Children's children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children. —Proverbs 17:6(NIV)
Father God, all time and history are in Your hands and all things happen by Your design. I praise and thank You for Your sovereignty and love for the world—love that caused You to send and sacrifice Your only Son, Jesus. Thank You for surrendering Him so I can draw near to You and can know You without fear or punishment.
Today, Lord, I pray for Mrs. Marian Robinson, First Lady Michelle Obama’s mother and Sasha and Malia’s grandmother. Thank you for the kind and selfless way she has been able to nurture and influence these girls throughout their lives. As she has chosen to continue this loving service and support of the First Family, I ask for Your grace and help for her. Bless her, Lord, as she has now moved into the White House to be of help and support. Provide her with friendships, fellowship and joy in every day, Lord, and let her time in the White House be filled with great blessing and sweetness. In Your loving name, amen. |

| Day 26 | Quote: | For Mrs. Marian Robinson to have the blessing of friendship and fellowship in her new home A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. —Proverbs 17:17(NIV)
Lord, often we never feel more alone than we do when we are in a new home in a new city. Though surrounded by people and clamor, we are isolated, because we have no specific people for ourselves no close friends to fill the relational void in our life. Even as we realize You are there and would never leave us, there is still a need for true friends who love us always. With that in mind, Lord, we intercede now for Mrs. Marian Robinson, that You to provide her with genuine and trusted friends that she can confide in and gain strength from as she works to care for her granddaughters Malia and Sasha. Select people of honor and integrity that love You, and place them in Mrs. Robinson’s path in the days and months to come. Do this, O God, so she may be blessed and drawn closer to You. Thank you, Lord, by Your power we pray, amen |

| Day 27 | Quote: | For godly influence at every level of the White House Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.—I Peter 5:8(NIV)
Holy and beautiful Lord God, You are glorious, righteous and good. You are the source of all goodness and truth, and there is nothing that is good or true that did not have its source in You. You dwell in unfathomable light and glory, and darkness cannot abide with Your presence.
Lord, we know that we have an enemy—an enemy of our souls that would love to gain a foothold in the halls of influence and power, particularly in the White House and the West Wing. We ask today that godliness and holiness will be the order of the day every day, at every level in the White House. May godly character be valued and sought out by those who lead our nation, so You may be glorified and Your purposes served. In Jesus’ name, amen. |

| Day 28 | Quote: | For President Obama to keep vital spiritual disciplines of Bible reading and prayer, that he may hear and obey God’s leading But God has surely listened and heard my voice in prayer. —Psalm 66:19(NIV)
What a privilege to carry everything to You, O God, in our prayers! The words from the hymn, Lord, remind us once again of the incredible truth that You listen and hear us when we pray. In Psalm 66, You also remind us of a king that You saved from an enemy threat bringing deliverance to his entire nation a leader who has learned that You surely do listen and respond when we call on You. We thank and praise You for this O God.
We ask, Lord, that You would give the same realization to the leader of our nation, President Barack Obama. Encourage and equip him, O God, to maintain a daily habit of searching Your ways through the Bible…and of searching Your heart through prayer. Let President Obama speak to You, mighty God, and respond to his praises and requests. We agree now on this, in Christ’s name, amen. |

Thank You, Lord, for Your holy word which guides us and helps us know Your heart and Your will for each of us. Thank You for making Your truth available to us so we may draw near to You in love and faith.
Today we bring before You our First Lady, Michelle Obama, asking that she will keep in her life the daily disciplines of Bible reading and prayer. | Day 30 | Quote: | For God’s spiritual protection over the White House, all its rooms and the grounds that surround it They would spend the night stationed around the house of God, because they had to guard it; and they had charge of the key for opening it each morning.—I Chronicles 9:27(NIV)
Mighty Lord, Our protector and keeper, Your Word shows us that guarding important structures is a priority to You; that You care, in intricate detail, about how they are kept from attack by the enemy. In today’s Scripture You show how You protected Your house around the clock. Your vigilance is extraordinary and encouraging as we think of the mansion that houses our President, his family and his staff. We thank and praise You for this, O Lord.
We ask today, Lord, that You guard the White House in the same way You protected Your house in ancient days. Be a mighty watchman, O God, over all who dwell and work in it, keeping them from harm and shielding them from attack from the enemy of our souls. Send Your heavenly host to be ever vigilant in safeguarding the White House, Heavenly Father, we ask this day, in the name of Your Son Jesus Christ, amen. |

To the LORD I cry aloud, and he answers me from his holy hill.—Psalm 3:3-4(NIV)
Lord of Hosts, I praise You today for Your righteous rule over both the earthy and the heavenly realms. You command an army of angels, cherubim and seraphim, all who exist to do Your bidding as You summon them to action. I praise You, Lord, for Your holiness and might in the heavenly places, acknowledging that You are more powerful than any force in all creation.
I ask today that You send Your heavenly host to protect and safeguard all who do serve the Executive branch of our nation’s government. Gracious God, how grateful we are today for the privilege You’ve given us to serve others. You’ve given each one of us special talents, abilities and insights that we, under Your direction, can use to glorify You as we help those around us. We worship You now, Lord, for choosing to use us in this incredible way.

| Day 35 | Quote: | For Majority and Minority leaders in Congress It is to a man’s honor to avoid strife, but every fool is quick to quarrel. --Proverbs 20:3
Lord, You have given us Your Word filled with basic yet profound principles that guide us in our daily living, that police us as we interact with other people. We praise You, O God, today for providing us direction and wisdom from Your heart not so You could rule over our lives with an iron fist, but so we could learn to govern our lives according to what You know is best for us.
Heavenly Father, we recognize today how incredibly challenging it must be to serve as a person of authority in Congress. Yet Your principle to avoid strife and not be quick to quarrel is perfectly fashioned for all who serve in political office. Therefore, Lord, we intercede now that You would enable the Majority and Minority leadership in Congress to seek to resolve issues with unity and bipartisanship, not with backbiting or driven by party agendas. Work in the lives of these people You’ve chosen for these positions, in the name of Jesus we pray, amen. |

You, O Lord, created us to live with integrity. It is Your desire that we have no false ways about us, but that we serve before others with honesty and in ways that’ll ultimately glorify You. We thank you today, God, that Your ideals for us are clear, Your expectations for us are high. We also praise You that You make it possible for us to find the wisdom and strength to pursue righteousness as we seek You and ask for Your aid.
Wonderful Lord, we now ask that You would help President Obama, and all those who serve with him to govern this nation, to call out to You and seek to live a godly life. David asked You to direct him so that his enemies would have no grounds for their malicious accusations against him. Enable our President and his staff and team to do exactly the same, and make their way straight and level, free from obstacles and temptations. We ask that You would do this, Lord, in Your name we pray, amen. |
