| The doctors had set a date for daddy's release. They were planning on letting him be discharged this coming Thursday. However, after his therapy this past Friday, they decided to move that up to tomorrow. After over 30 days in the hospital, my dad is going home! _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. |

| Very good!! I am sure you will all be happy to have him out of the hospital (probably he will be even happy than you). _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| Very good news about your dad. Can you dad help himself when he's home? Or does he needs some help with things? |

| I haven't given an update for a while, so I will. I owe God some praises on this and have failed to give them.
I took my dad, after several rough days, back to his doctor at the VA. I had hope to be able to get my dad into the state Veterans Home, but that did not happen. I showed the Dr. all the things we were battling, and showed him the notes that daddy's home health nurse had documented (like massively dangerous drops in blood pressure). The doctor looked over my dad's prescriptions and was astounded at the level of blood pressure meds that my dad was on since leaving the hospital 2 weeks before. He told us to wait on putting daddy in a home for a few days and let his system flush the other meds. He changed some prescriptions around, and sent us home.
Needless to say, I was mildly hopeful............and doubtful at the same time. OK, I was nearly overwhelmed with the thought of having to help care for an adult child while we played the "wait and see" game.
But, 2 days later, my dad decided he felt different and would not use his walker. He grabbed his cane to walk. He had no more dizzy spells, and his right side no longer just quit on him. He has been walking more and more and more........and without help. He is now talking about moving out of my sister's house into an apartment or something since his own house is no longer habitable.
God is good, and I deserve a kick in the pants for not telling everyone. I've just been very focused on me lately and sinking deeper into that. I have a sadness that I just cannot shake, and I have a pitiful attitude about everything.
So, instead of praying for my dad, maybe you could just pray for me. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. |

| He has a major bleed on the brain. The doctors are going to put a port in to drain the fluids to keep swelling from occuring. |

| It's worse even than what Tim has said. Daddy has no responsiveness and has pretty sever damage to his brain stem. The docs have decided to NOT move forward with treatment, because there isn't anything to treat. When docs at Vandy stop treatment, rest assured that the end is near.
Alldat, our sister and I talked and prayed a lot today. While none of us want him gone, we realize that it's all in God's hands and that His will, will be done. I personally have accepted that daddy will likely die and I know that all will be well.
Please continue to pray..... |

| Sabidoo is correct in his assessment. Our dad is in a deep coma after having a major stroke. They are just watching him for 3 days to check for increases or decreases in brain activity. Right now, he is losing activity. If he continues to be unresponsive, then we will probably have to remove him from the ventilator on Tuesday. Since he is not breathing on his own, this will not be good. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. |

| While you may only have him for a few more days barring a miracle, praise God you got him this long from his previous hospitalization. I hope that allowed y'all to say what needed to be said.
It's tough enough for Christians to lose those close to them, I can't fathom how non-believers deal with it. May His peace carry you through. _________________ "If you are not concerned about your neighbor's salvation, you should be concerned about your own."

| I said it yesterday, and it sounded harsh to start with. The last stroke that he had in Aug. was more of a blessing than a curse. Sure, it took daddy down several notches in health, but it made us kids step up and love on him more while we tended to his needs. I've spent a lot of time with him since Aug. 27, and I am proud to have been able to. I've been able to talk to him about many of the hard feelings I harbored against him, and I have been able to let them go. He's my daddy, and my friend now. I could not ask for a better miracle. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. |

| That's a miracle and it's sad this happend. God will give you and your family all the strenght you need in thses days. Tell your dad what you want to tell him.
I know how hard this is. The same happened with my dad.
Be strong and know you and your family are in my prayers a lot. God gives you the strength you need in the next days and even you can''t feel His presence is near, He is close to help you through this. |

| I spoke to one of the neuro doctors a little while ago. Their prognosis is that there is no chance of daddy recovering. So, whether tonight or tomorrow, we'll be shutting off the ventilator and letting daddy rest. My time with him is running out way too quickly. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. |
