| Early this morning one of my brother-in-laws died of heart failure. The physical damage was sudden and unexpected, but the emotional damage of a broken marriage robbed two years of his life and ultimately took his life. He was a very good friend, and because of this I spent countless hours counseling him. The separation from his wife that he endured was not any fault of his own, but that didn't matter to him. Regardless of how his wife mistreated him, he still loved her intensely. Over the last two years I sat with him watching his sadness deteriorate into hopelessness. I prayed for him constantly, but nothing seemed to break through his feelings of loss. Two days ago I put my hand on his shoulder, looked into his eyes and said to him "I'm here for you, I'm not just going to let you go like this". Last night he stopped by a local kiosk and bought some french fries, after he ate one he fell to the ground with pains in his chest. The owner of the kiosk called for an ambulance and they took him to the local hospital. He died six hours later. I can't really describe the pain I'm feeling...or the pain of a mother-in-law who has just lost her third son. I don't have any family here in Germany other than my children and that of my wife. Please pray for my wife and her mother.

| Wow, 5 kids and 5 years younger than me. You just never know when your time is up. I'm sorry to hear of your loss as you were obviously close to him. _________________ "If you are not concerned about your neighbor's salvation, you should be concerned about your own."

| Tomorrow is the funeral. It took a little longer than usual. The District Attorney had to give the OK to release the body. There is suspicion that my brother-in-law was poisoned by his estranged wife. This is the third son my mother-in-law has lost. She lost two other sons in a car accident on the autobahn about 8 years ago. She is a strong woman and has been through a lot. Her father was shot and killed right before her eyes in a russian concentration camp when she was little, her mother died of breast cancer and her husband died in 1992 of a heat stroke while sitting in a sauna. Through all of this she has never lost faith in Jesus. She is a true hero to me. |

| Your mother-in-law certainly sounds like a true child of the Lord. Praying the funeral goes of without a hitch so you can at least put that behind you. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."
