PostSubject: Prayer request   Tue Jul 24, 2007 11:38 pm

I know I don't post much in these sections anymore, but I do read and pray for people. Now I find myself needing to ask for prayer.

My father has had cancer for a long time, and beaten it quite a few times. This time, it is looking pretty dark. Please pray. For healing if God wills it and peace and strength no matter what.

He is a believer, so that is a great comfort.

Will do, Nick. I remember watching my grandma wrestle with this. It gets to a point where you start praying for "the ultimate healing" if your dad is a Christian. You want to keep them with you--that's natural. But, your spirit wants them to fly to the heavens and be free from all pain as they celebrate salvation with Jesus.

I'll keep you and your dad in prayer, bro. Just know that God is even nearer to you now. It might feel like you just can't go on, but the Lord will give you His strength to go forward if you keep trusting Him.

The reason you don't post much here is no reason to pray for your father.
This is hard nick when you know your dad is very sick and you have no idea what it will be.
That's why you have brothers in Christ to pray for you in times you need it.
Your dad and you too are in my prayers.

That rocks, AF. Thanks! Very Happy

Home tonight from the hospital and doing OK. The infection is not quite gone, but he is re-hydrated and feeling OK, although it is still not what I would call "doing good". I'd like to see him walk again, but barring God's intervention, I don't see that happening.

I used to always look down my nose at all these people coming in to my pharmacy on disability and whining about their situation. Now the shoe's on the other foot. I have so many health probs including Carpal tunnel that I fear for the future. Its kinda like that movie "the Doctor" where he's calloused about all his whiny patients until one day he gets cancer and has to be a patient himself. I'm not happy about this situation, but it's reality, and I have to face it. My work has slipped tremendously. I'm taking hard hitting drugs for the first time in my life and feeling ashamed of that.

Please pray that the LORd will open a door for me to exit Pharmacy (which I've been doing for 18 years) and to enter a career where I can be useful and glorifying God. I need that right now like I need my next breath.

I can relate. I'm on Cumadin (sp?) and likely will take it the rest of my life, even though I'm not yet 40. I've always been a very healthy individual, so it was hard to adjust mentally to this, but it was necessary.

I'll be praying for you, Jim.

Um, I didn't mean for my prayer request to be here with the request for Manuel... I'm not sure how I accidently posted it here... maybe a moderator could move it or something ? Sorry Nick.

(must be those "hard hitting drugs" I was talking about Embarassed )

No problem, bro. I did not take offense. We should bear one another's burdens, right? Smile

We really have to bear each others burdens.
That helps so much in pain sorrows and burdens you know you are not alone to bear it all.

I continue to pray that your Dad is comforted and recieves the healing touch of our great God.

And I thank you guys for your prayers... God has answered them. But I will put it in a different thread. (I can be really stupid sometimes)

I don't know how much longer my father will be able to hang on. My mother is not ready to lose him. Please lift them both up.

Thanks for your prayers, it means a lot to me.

My dad is in the hospital right now, but this is a good thing as he is eating more and being hydrated more, and is gaining strength. Your continued prayers are appreciated.
