Tomorrow my daughter will compete in the Miss Pierce County Pagent (as a teen contestant).

I am conflicted because I would like her to win, and at the same time I don't want her to win.

Either way I will spend several hours tomorrow helping with preperations, and driving, and cheering etc.
If she wins (and she does have a good chance of it) she will continue on to the Ms Washington Pagent.

Tell me first what Miss Pierce County Pagent is.

It's part of the Miss America Organization.
Girls compete for scholarship money to use for college.

I can sympathize with your conflict, though.

Actually she has my round face and my nose. The rest she got from her mom's side of the family. She is also about an inch (or so) taller than both me and her mother.

Thanks guys, she is really pumped about the state competition. It's even more exciting now that she has the resources of the county behind her.

The teen contestants do not get scholarship money, they get savings bonds (but they can use them for college). The regular Miss contestants (the older girls) get the scholarships.

I expect that has scared away more than a few boys.......well that and my shot-gun collection.
Problem is now, she thinks she can whoop her old man. She is much faster than me, and can hit me 2 or 3 times before I land a good blow, but I still hit much harder than she does.

My daughter is eleven and a purple belt, but this old man is still faster with his fists than she is.

Just give a 3 more years and she will be kicken your can all over the place.
