PostSubject: All in ONE week !   Tue Aug 07, 2007 9:39 am

Story # 1 = I'm at work doing my thing and the gal from the photo dept comes over frantic and asking me how to get the photos from a cell phone to the phone's memory card so they can take the pictures off the card and print them. Reason she's frantic is cuz first of all, the photos are of an abused child who's very bruised and the customer has to be in court with these photos in 1 hour ! Second of all, she had tried moving the photos from the phone memory to the memory card.... and lost them ! So to shorten the story a bit, she gave the phone to me and I found them rather quickly, transferred them for her and they printed them and the customer left for court to bring justice for their child.

Story # 2 = My wife and I are coming home from Church Sunday and we come upon a Bible in the middle of the road. I picked it up, took it home and began thumbing thru it to find a name or phone #. I find a name, and also discover he's a brand new Christian (2 months old according to the writing in the Bible). I search his number in the phone book and thank God I found them... left a message and waited 3 days before his wife called and was very thankful and said she'd send her husband over. He got here in 5 minutes. He was elated to see his Bible and threw his arms around me. I kinda laughed (and felt really good since my own Bible of 17 years was stolen a couple years back and this sort of made up for it)...
Here's the kicker: he thumbs to the back of the Bible and slides the Bible out of it's cover and hidden in the back is a STACK OF 100 DOLLAR BILLS !! The dude had thousands of dollars in the back of his Bible !!!! I said "dude ! what are you doing with all that money in your Bible ?????" He said it's for his kid's tuition and it's all the money he has in the world ! So I was happy he got his Bible and his cash back, but I told my new brother that he needs to look into a bank and not store so much money in his Bible. He apparently left his Bible on his truck after Church and forgot it. I told him he was blessed that a Christian found it ! So later that evening he came back to my house and his wife had written a nice thank you card and they put some money in it for me.. to which I was upset cuz I didn't want any money and my wife said to let them, cuz I would do the same thing if I was in their shoes. It was an awesome sunday, and I praise God for being able to bless a new believer like that. This guy got to see first hand how God takes care of His children... what a testimony.

Story # 3 (cuz these things always seem to happen in 3's)
I've been wanting out of my current job for about 3 years now. I've prayed about it, been frustrated, angry, depressed... until last November I was offered to return to my older job (I had left cuz they went on strike and I had to make money for my family). I was stoked ! until they said that under the current contract, new hires must wait 12 months for insurance benefits. Well I have many health problems and can't wait for insurance. My balloon quickly deflated and I knew that this couldn't be God's will, since the door wasn't wide open. So I decided to be patient and wait on the LORD and not take things into my own hands. Nine months later (3 days ago) I got an e-mail from my old district supervisor and he said the latest contract is phenomenal and he wants me back !!! I accepted ! Sparing you the details, he offered me some amazing things and I knew instantly this is the LORD's doing. (My ultimate desire is to get out of Pharmacy all together but that's apparently not God's will yet. So I will be faithful until He calls me to do something else.) I am completely excited about leaving my current job and going to a much better job.

I am exhausted from all the awesome things the LORD has been doing in my life... all just in 1 week !!

I definitely give Him the glory as He is worthy of our praise !

Now the ironic part is I get sick... Isn't that funny ? You'd think after a week like that, I'd be on top of the world... but here I am sick... sigh pale

Well I hope you don't have to be sick for too long.

I get sick way too often, but I'm used to it.

We have something in common !

Yay ! Illness comparisons... here we go:

Mitral valve prolapse causing several side effects including palpitations, "flip flops", and overall fluish feeling. (lethargy)

Degenerative disc disease. So far 2 surgeries in 2 years on my lower back, including hardware. Severe pain down my legs due to this disease.

Carpal tunnel syndrome from my career. Mainly in left arm, right is very slight case. Possible surgery in future.

Hereditary Pancreatitis... swelling of pancreas that affects digestion and creates hellacious pain. (lost 30 pounds in 3 months a few years back)

Kidney stones. Passed a rock that gave me respect for women and childbearing. Passed other small ones that wasn't worth the morphine.

Ummm, I guess that's all I can think of right now... I'm sure there's more. (I didn't even go into the mental and emotional battles I fight on a daily basis.)

My body is literally a piece of trash.

Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!

Well Im pretty sure you have me beat, but I will give it a shot.

Labrynthitis - For some reason I have a poor immune system, and seem to catch every cold I come in contact with (it has been this way most of my life). A few years ago I started developing sinus infections with most of my colds. I have had so many now I am asymptomatic (means I don't even know I have them most of the times). They usually go away on their own, but know I have developed another complication called Labrynthitis. It is a very dizzy feeling from excessive fluid build-up. When I move my head I get this spinning sensation that often makes me lose my balance (and makes me nausious). They have medicine for this but it knocks me out for 1 to 2 days. So I don't take it.

IBS - This is what doctors call it when you have digestive issues and they can't tell why. I have stopped eating dairy, spicy foods, and foods high it fat (well mostly). I try not to eat anything after 7 pm. But I still wake up some mornings with severe abdominal pain. Sometimes I think about just giving up on food, but I like it too much.

Gout - Yes I said gout. Strange ailement that causes an intense pain in your toe (usually your right big toe). It is caused by a purine crystal build-up in the joint. Little can be done about it, and it is very painful. So painful in fact that the first time it bothered me I was certain my toe was broken, and I wen to the emergency room. This typically only occurs in people who eat excessive amounts of beef, organ meats, or come from the Philliipines. I don't fit into any of those categories, my doctor is baffled.

We sound rather broken down for a bunch of 30 & 40 somethings.
No

No doubt !

A Dr once diagnosed me with Labrynthitis. But it was only a one day deal. I woke up one morning with outrageous dizziness... at first I thought it was cool, until 2 hours it hadnt gone away and I had to go to work. After an hour at work of falling into the walls, my boss sent me to the urgent care and that's what they said I had. They gave me antivert and phenergan and sent me home. Next day I was fine. Weird.
I cant imagine struggling with that all the time though, I feel for you man !

We should go on "mystery diagnosis"... that show is cool !

Scared the bejeebers out of me the first time I got it. Gave me an anxiety attack. Now it is more of a pain then anything. Nothing funner than sitting up in the morning and feeling like you just got of the tilt-a-whirl at the fair.

Aww dude ! "Mystery Diagnosis" is out of this world ! I think it's on TLC or Discovery and it tells peoples stories of how they went to drs one by one and were told different things (and usually told that they're nuts and should be on psych meds), until one day a Dr figures out what they have and they are treated (or in some cases, told to live with it). It's a great show. I've seen a couple people on the show with similar symptoms I have, and they were ultimately diagnosed with "Dysautonomia" or "Lupus"-type problems. Where your body thinks its a good idea to attack itself. Which would make sense cuz no Drs can figure out why my Discs are degenerating at such a fast pace, or why my pancreas is displaying the symptoms of an alcoholic (no, I don't drink, and never have, even before I was a Christian)...

Like I said, maybe one day you'll see me on the show !
