Ok last week it was two modern rock bands at the top of the current Christian music scene. This week it is two old-school Christian metal bands.

Which one is your favorite......and why? (this one is going to be difficult for me)

I'm with yuh, it's difficult as I like both bands quite a bit.

Reason I picked Saint is sentimental - When I was a teeny-bopper into the "secular metal" scene, someone gave me their "Warriors of the Son" cassette to copy (looking back now, this guy may have been trying to witness to me via music, Idk). I gave it maybe two listens, and went back to my junk music.

Fast forward 20 years. I totally forgot about that album, yet when I get a copy on mp3 in my 30s and begin listening to it, I remembered the album and the songs ! NOW it meant something to me as a believer. So of course I had to get everything they put out and I listened to them a lot, grew to love their stuff.

As for Sacred Warrior, no sentimental link, but I DO like them. They just don't get as many spins as Saint.

(Sorry, not much of a technical reason, ie production, riffs, talent, lyrics, etc... just simple, like me.)

After much thought I went with Saint.

Probably just because of their shear volume of work.
I think Sacred Warrior is probably a better band technically, but I love Saint's attitude and the fact that I have a dozen albums to pick from when I want to listen to them.

I wimped out. I can't choose.

Sacred Warrior. I like both bands a lot, but Sacred Warrior's lyrics were more relevant to me. Too much of Saint's lyrics are about the end of the world. That's okay, I guess, but SW's lyrics spoke to me. Musically, both are awesome, but even there, I'd probably give SW the edge over Saint.

Oooo, that's close call. Saint have done some great albums, but I think I'll have to pick Sacred Warrior just because of one album alone (Obsessions). That is one of the few albums in Christian metal that doesn't have any dud songs on it.

I've just gotta go with the raw power of Saint.

At 3 to 3 it looks like both bands are now tied up.
Who's gonna be the tie-breaker?

I love both bands- this was too close to call. So I was unable to decide.

Since I have listened more to Saint than to Sacred Warrior I voted for Saint.

I seriously had a hard time on this one. Both bands are fantastic. I agree with Fundy that "Obsessions" is one of my all time favorite Christian metal albums (probably before any single Saint album). And I probably would have gone with Sacred Warrior if they had a larger body of work.
