PostSubject: Talking to a guitarist   Sun Apr 29, 2007 9:45 pm

I put a bulletin up on Craigslist.com in the Nashville area about needing musicians to finish my CD. I am talking to one guitarist about coming out and finishing the leads. He's not well known in Christian metal, but this guy does have a bit of a following. Anyone here ever hear of Gypsy Carns? Well, he is interested and might be coming out next week.

Good news.
I hope the guitarist is able to finish the last guitar leads.
Keep us posted about the guitarist and the leads.

Heard of 'em, but never heard them/him (at least I don't think so). Let us know how it goes.

Right now he's pretty busy with his new CD, so I hope we can work things out. He plays a lot of slide guitar which would sound great on a couple of tunes. I'll let you all know if I get something hooked up with him.

The blues guy? I've got two of his CDs (for free). He can "shred" in a bluesy way. Would be interested to hear some harder stuff from him!

I am familiar with his acoustic blues stuff, but have only recently heard some of his rock blues material. Sort of "George Thoroughgood-ish". But, if he can rip on what I need to finish, I'll just be happy to get the rest of this CD finished.

Hope this guitarist has soon time to work out things.
That he feels what guitar leads the songs needs.
That would be great.

Right now, Gypsy is very busy trying to finish up a new CD of his own. So, for him to get on board, it may be a while. So, I am talking to a couple of other guys and hope something pans out soon.

That would be great to get a guitarist who has the time and feels what kind of lead the songs needs.
Let us know when there's a guitarist.

I have finally talked with Marty Jenkins and we are set to try these songs tomorrow night. So, maybe the leads can be finished up then.

As to the drums, I am e-mailing with a couple of local drummers about getting involved. But, I am having a lot of technical difficulties with my electric drums. So, replacing them might have to happen before I can proceed.

That's very good news you have talked with Marty to finish the guitar leads.
I hope the leads can be finished tomorrow night.

Now the next problem is drums.
A lot of problems this time to finish the CD.

Well, things didn't fly with Marty. He had to work late, so he couldn't come out. So, we'll try to reschedule.

So, I guess until then, I'll either keep trying to do these myself, or keep trying to find someone else.

That's a possibility too to try to fix those leads by yourself.
It would be great when you can create some cool leads.
That shows progress.
To bad Marty had to work late.

Good news. The song "Surrender" has it's leads! I went to the Batcave and literally played until my fingers started bleeding, but I got the Angus Young (AC/DC) guitar sound and licks that I wanted.

So, that just leaves two without leads. Ah......progress!

Good job, keep that up and Pastor Brad might have to put you on his next shred album.

You've done an excellent job.
Yep, that's really progress.
Now ... I'm so curious to hear the lead of "Surrender".
Maybe you get ideas for the other tow songs.
