PostSubject: My Foster Son   Fri Jul 29, 2011 11:58 pm

My foster son could really use some prayer. He has had a very rough week, capped with a terrible evening. I am worried about him.

If I would have had a gun in the house last night he might have shot me. Sadly we have had to give him back to the state (at least for now). We are very sad, and he is very scared.

Sorry to hear it, bro. We had an unsettling experience with a foster child once. It's difficult because you want to help them, but sometimes you are not adequately equipped to deal with them in the home.

That is the case with us as well. We really love the boy, we just can't give him the expert help he needs to deal with the trauma he has been through in his past.....and becasue of his outbursts it just wasn't safe for him (or us) to keep him here.

That's sad to read you have to give your foster son back to the state.
I hope God will take away his fear and fills him with peace.
Hope he gets the help he needs to overcome his trauma.

We have a family at church that ADOPTED through the foster system and are at the same place. With the adoption, it makes it harder to return the child to state custody. However, the boy is one incident from the juvenile judge terminating adoptive parental rights due to his misbehavior. He will go back in the system if he gets in trouble one more time.

Wow that is bad news indeed. Not the first sad adoption story I have heard of. We have a family in our community who's adopted son molested their younger daughter.
