PostSubject: The power of prayer   Tue Aug 09, 2011 8:47 pm

Though I've been doing fantastic health-wise, I had a kinda scarey day Saturday.

My bro, nephew, Mom, wife and I all went to Catalina Island for the day. Had a great day until around noonish. I began to have pain in my lower gut. It got worse through the afternoon to the point where I could barely walk (I hid it best I could cuz I didn't wanna spoil the day for my family - I've had gut probs most my life, so I figured I'd tough it out). By the time we were on the boat back, I was hittin' a "10" on the pain scale. Excrutiating pain in the Appendix area. So we got off the boat and drove to the nearest ER. My wife and mom got on their cells and got tons of ppl praying for me. within an hour at the ER, the pain began to drop quickly down to a 6. By the time they came in to give me drugs, I was down to a 4 and refused meds. Finally got home by 2am, exhausted, but pain free.

My white blood count was high, but is now normal. Several possibilities what it could be, I had a CT scan this morning, so I'll hopefully find out what was going on in there.

So, there's a possibility that God just healed the problem.... or He just took the pain away till I get a diagnosis. Idk, but I'm pretty thankful either way.

Wow that is weird.

My daughter (17) had almost the exact same thing. She was doubled over sobbing with pain for several hours. She ended up in the ER where they did an ultra-sound and several test but could never find anything. After about 30 min in the ER her pain quickly started to subside, and within a few hours she didn't have any pain at all.

I would be thankful too.

So the verdict is in... I passed another Kidney Stone. 1st one was in 2000 and they said I had a bunch more, but time passed and I forgot about them. Started passing another big one in Catalina Saturday around Noonish, apparently it finally moved on away from it's "narrow road" at the ER after IV fluids by 9PM. I'm thankful it was nothing serious and appreciate all your prayers.

Ouch, I hear passing a kidney stone is a special kind of pain. Glad to hear it wasn't anything "worse".

If you have a lot, and are quick enough to catch them...you could make a nice neckace for the wife by the time you are done.

I'll "pass" on the necklace.

And yes the pain is AMAZING... this one I passed completely without pain medicine. Guess that makes me a manly man. (Course next time I'll be taking anything I can get my hands on) affraid

I bet she is thankful. Glad it was nothing more serious (not that kidney stones are a walk in the park).
