| Something yellow and black has infested the woods behind the school… no, not Stryper, but wasps.
Trouble is, we used to use those woods to go running. Now they are unsafe. Almost everyone who's been in there got stung. I myself have one on my chest, my dad has one on the leg, to say nothing of the others who have been stung multiple times…
One kid went running through the most-infested spot. Instead of continuing, he panicked and stopped. He was stung over 40 times, and was sent to hospital. No fun at all, but I hear he's OK.
Pray that the exterminators will be able to control this; pray for the kid who got stung (Joe), and pray also that we'll be able to go running in the woods soon. |

| That sounds nasty. Wasps are horrid, I'm sure they're a product of the curse.

| Yellow and black? Sounds like yellow jackets to me. They nest in the ground. People walking and running would shake the ground if their nest was close to the trail. You can't squash one or you will get attacked by the whole nest due to the chemical smell they give off if you splat one. It attracts the others in the nest to an offensive attack. The only way to get rid of them is to find the nest, pour gasoline or kerosene down it, and light it on fire. Spraying will help, but if you don't get them all, the nest will continue and grow. Lighting it on fire is the key because they are attracted to the heat and light. Also, as other yellow jackets pop in the flame, they release that chemical smell that attracts the others to attack. Burning out yellow jackets is the ONLY way to really get rid of that problem. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. |

| I suppose you're right about them being yellowjackets, Alldat. I didn't want to stop and see for sure! The school has hired exterminators, and we'll see what happens. I scraped my knees the other day, so that took my mind off the stings. It still itches, but it doesn't hurt. Joe's doing alright, I talked to him on FB the other day. |

| So… the YJs have been exterminated, or so I've heard.
Praise God no one is seriously injured. |
