PostSubject: Prayers for Alldat and his wife...   Sun Oct 23, 2011 12:35 am

On Saturday night, Alldat's father-in-law (Howell Hardin) was killed in a horrible accident. Since it was totally unexpected, it has come a a MAJOR shock to them all. His mother-in-law is pretty torn up as is his wife.

Yall please lift their whole family up in prayer that God will provide peace to them in their time of sorrow.

Howell was a strong Christian man. A very wise man and ALWAYS had something funny to say. I know he is among the angels now and will be sorely missed.

Wow! Sorry to hear that awful news. I will pray for Alldat and the whole family at this time of sorrow and loss. Even though Howell is with his Lord, which is a great comfort for all the family, it will still be a mindnumbing time here for them at this time.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Thanks, sabidoo, for those kind words. You couldn't have painted a more accurate picture of my daddy-in-law if you had tried.

Just so everyone knows the story........

My wife and I took our youth group to a corn maze last night. As we were coming home, my wife got a phone call from her mom. A local policeman was there with her. My wife's dad had gone out on a curvy back-road last night to take off a stray cat. When he got out of his van, he forgot to put it in park, and the van backed up and pinned him to the ground. So, I need strength for my wife right now, but Holly and her mom need your prayers more.

How terrible, I am so sorry to hear this. My prayers of support and comfort go out to your wife, your mother-in-law and you. I can imagine this must be very difficult.

What a terrible news to read.
What a shock for the family.
Howell is with God now, but for his family it's so unexpected so unreal to know he's dead.
My intense prayers are with the family in these days.
My thoughts are with you all.

Ouch. That's really sad. I pray that God may send the whole family peace.

Although death is never great, we have had some good news with this. The medical examiner declared this an accident. This will help my mother-in-law greatly with their life insurance policies. She won't have to worry about her future now. She isn't rich, but she won't have to struggle either.

In the examiner's report, he declared that when the van pinned my father-in-law that it took about 2 minutes for him to pass away. That means he didn't suffer much. That makes dealing with this easier.

The funeral is today, so it's going to be a rough day.

Hey, the love of God overflow everyone touched by this difficult tragedy.

If it's any consolation (and I don't know how this sounds, but) I'd rather go painfully in 2 minutes than years of cancerous suffering.

Good to hear that the insurance company will come through (one less thing to worry about). Praying that all will be comforted.

It's good your mother-in- law doesn't have to worry about the future.
I think she has more than enough to deal with.

That reminds me of something more or less similar. One of my cats died a few years ago, but a couple of months after Toast (her name) died, another cat literally showed up on our doorstep. God will provide!

Are you doing this one or is someone else?

The pastor of the church where my father-in-law attended did the funeral. I don't think I would have been able to do this one. I've done family funerals before, and they are terrible to get through. You just want to grieve with the family but you are up there trying to deliver a message. It's just too hard.

Very happy to hear you didn't have to do the service.

Yep… my dad had to do his mother-in-law's a few years ago. It was hard for the family, but we knew Grandma was with the Lord.

I did both of the funerals for both my wife's brother and her sister. Not fun.

No that's no fun to leade the funeral services of your sister-in-law and your brother-in-law.
I wasn't able to tell something on the funeral of my dad.
