How is it going with your wife and her family after the unexpected sudden death of her dad?

There are good days and bad days of course. Right now, my wife is helping her mom file life insurance claims and all that entails. Other than that, it's just taking time to adjust to her dad not being there anymore. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution.

| My wife's father died rather suddenly (although not nearly as suddenly as your father-in-law). It was about 16 years ago (my wife was only 28 years old). My wife went and lived with her mom for about 2 months (just to help her through). It took quite a long time to "get used to" him not being around (although I'm not sure you ever really get used to it). She still misses him very much, especially around Christmas (he died two days before Christmas). _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

I remember from when my dad past away the deep pain and grief will move after some time, but you never forget it. Sometimes things in your life happen and you think this would be cool to share with dad. It's a process, and it's so personal how long that process will take.

I'm one of those kind of people who constantly dreads the inevitable. It crosses my mind almost everyday that someone close to me will go... I know you shouldn't think that way or worry about it, but I do. I'm not a big fan of this whole "death" thing.
