DISCUSS!!!

I was pleasently suprised with the recent Star Treck (reboot) movie. I went into it without much in the way of expectations and walked a way very happy I saw it. My wife is a much bigger Trekkie then I am, and she was really happy with it. We both thought the actor who played "young Spock" pretty much nailed the character (and actor who played Kirk was no slouch either).

I thought the reboot was pretty cool, too. I don't like the fact that they destroyed Vulcan, though. That pretty much erases much of the Star Trek history with this whole "alternate reality/time travel" story arc.

I am curious to see what they do with the new movie. Some speculation has been that they will make Spock to be a homosexual. If they change any of the characters to be this way when they were never like that on TOS or in the movies, then I will end my further involvement with Trek.

I have heard rumors that they are seriously considering telling the whole "Khan" story but in just one movie. That would be interesting, but I don't really want to see this new cast remake old stories. Tell me some new ones and give the occasional tip of the hat to the older shows/films.

I have tried to watch Star Trek movies, but I never was so interested to wath the movie till the end.

Maybe you should try the reboot that came out in 2009. It has a lot of action and is a good start for non-Trek fans.

I watched the film round a friends house on his projector and what with his massive speakers hooked up aswell, the whole room shook! It was better than going to the cinema. Free drink, free food, free film, great company and a good chair to sit on.

I just wonder if some of the rumors are true that they may try to redo Khan.

I was wondering that myself. I will just look at them as rumors until something solid comes about.
