PostSubject: SB 1867 and Indefinate detention are we facing a civil WAR?    Sun Dec 18, 2011 12:37 am

In early December the US senate passed SB 1867 the defense bill that contained in section 1031 and 1032 a provision that gives the Government the right to indefinitely detain ANYONE who is suspected to have ties to a suspected "terrorist group" without a trial!!
Many are calling this an act of TREASON by our own Government.
Senator Rand Paul fought the bill on the floor of the US Senate and here is his response to this Bill.

The group Oathkeepers which is primarily comprised of current and former US military personnel has openly condemned the Bill and also released a list of orders that there members will refuse to obey even under threat of court marshal!!

Judge Napolitano on Fox Business states that even Hitler and Stalin did not go this far!!

My National Political Party has openly and Publicly condemned this Bill here.

On our State of Alabama Facebook site you can find link after link from groups that are openly and publicly condemning this Treasonous Bill. The media is not telling YOU that this is happening and this may well become US law before the new year.

This bill is VERY troubling to me, given the fact that there are now 76 detention centers built and ready to go. Just 2 weeks ago, the government started issuing contracts to run these centers (that don't exist).

When you have a Communist dictatorship taking over your nation, you need the national media to be your puppet. We have that here. Of COURSE, they are not reporting it. WE are probably now suspected terrorists just for discussing this here.

And I make it a point to use ALL the keywords while on the phone. That way I can be guaranteed my conversations are recorded and reported. Then when I have to unload on them, they can't claim they didn't know ahead of time.

The bill specifically states that the provisions about detention do not change existing laws as they apply to U.S. citizens, meaning due process still applies.

WRONG SB 1867 brings the mainland US into the field of battle for the war on Terror and it does this in sections 1031 and 1032. In the new House Bill that will be heard on next Wednesday that has now been changed
Quote:
It appears that the National Defense Authorization Act is going to be
passed out of the conference committee and sent to the House for final
approval on Wednesday. Despite tens of thousands of emails and calls
the wording in the bill which would allow indefinite military detention
of US citizens has not been changed, though the offending sections have
been renumbered to cause confusion. They are now sections 1021 and
1022. (see the conference report at
http://www.rules.house.gov/Media/file/PDF_112_1/legislativetext/HR1540conf.pdf )
If you are part of ANY group that is a SUSPECTED terrorist group then you if this passes are subject to being picked up by the military and detained indefinitely. No trial no phone call no lawyer or Miranda rights you just disappear!
Here is the national group Oathkeepers on the subject.

Oathkeepers was founded by Military personnel and is a well respected patriot group with deep roots in the US Military ranks.
Senator Rand Paul on the Bill after it was rammed through the Senate.

That was in the original bill, but stripped out at Obama's insistence. There is a new bill to try to reassert habeus corpus, but it would have been better not to pass the original legislation at all.
