I'm with yuh dbfan. Jeans and t-shirt. That's it.
In the 80s I leaned more towards the look of Metallica- which was jeans and t-shirt. Shirts were always (and only) of metal/punk bands and comic books.
I had t-shirts of Metallica, MegaDeth, Alice Cooper, Van Halen, Scorpions, The Addicts, Bad Religion, Minor Threat, Ratt, DRI, SOD, Social Distortion, COC, etc.
Never did the glam look (although I did have one of those hats that had the tails in the back - that you'd put pins on of your fav metal bands).
I did the mullet for a while, but later did some punk stuff, mohawk, spikes... but usually just long hair and 1 earring in the left ear (since that was "cool")

Question, is there for each music style a cloth styling.
I remember watching videos of Mastedon members wearing shorts.
And the lovely hairstyles of the guys of hair metal bands.

There were/are definitely trends specific to each musical style. Usually fans emulate the looks of the bands themselves, but overall there are certain fashions for each type of musical genre. Some are worse than others.

Can't say I ever had any parachute pants or anything hip hop, although I once shaved my sideburns into lightening bolts... that count ?

I tried to grow a mullet once. My mother disapproved and cut it short. I felt disgraced.

What were those hats even called ? I can't find one on the internet... the closest I could find to the 80s hat with flaps in the back is this:

I rember those hats (with out the uber long flap in the back). I won one once at a street fair that was all decked out in the Copenhagen logo.

I call them a flap-hat.
