| Listening to "Countdown" the new album of Driver. It's a great album. It reminds me very much to the solo albums of Rob Rock. Great guitar work.
Looking forward to read the review of this album from Dynamis.

| I sort of run out of steam with Rob Rock. Not sure why, 'cause he's a brilliant vocalist, but I'm finding myself wanting something different.
It does sound like a good record though.

| I'm kinda the same way. If you've heard one of his songs you've heard them all. I have 2 or 3 of his solo discs and when I first got them I was stoked to hear them but after a while they all kinda sound the same. | |

| I understand where you all are coming from. But, many artists do seem to get locked into a particular sound after a while. If the fans are buying it, why not? But, I do see that Rob needs to experiment a little with some style variation in his metal. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| I still dig almost all of Rob's stuff. I don't care if some of it sounds samey, it is pretty much my favorite style. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| Does anyone know what the first album of Driver was?
Maybe that's the reason Rob rock hasnt released a solo album for a long time?

| The first Driver release was in 1990 - a 6 song EP. In 2008, they released Sons of Thunder, with 5 of those 6 songs rerecorded. Then this one - Countdown.
Rob's last solo album was 2007. In 2008, he rejoined Impellitteri and they released Wicked Maiden.
I enjoy rob's solo stuff, Driver, Fires of Babylon, and his projects with Joshua, Warrior and Axel Rudi Pell but I don't really care for the Impellitteri stuff that much.

Tim Indeed he did. And my favorite in the Angelica catalog - ishmael81 wrote:

I haven't heard the album that Rob did with Axel, but I would say that my favortie RR stuff is his solo albums. I like much of the stuff he did with Impellitteri, but I have to confess that is probably my least favorite of his work. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| Fires Of Babylon is an other project of Rob Rock? I'm trying to find some samples of "Sons Of Thunder" to see if I like that CD too. | |

| Yep. Fires of Babylon had him on vocals and Lou St Paul from.... it escapes me... on guitar. It's pretty good. I actually like it better than both Driver releases I have. | |

Winter's Bane. Lou is also a Christian. Thanks TT - I knew Lou was a believer but couldn't think of the band he was in.

| Trying to find samples of Fires Of Babylon too. I think when you listen to Rob Rock solo album and Driver without knowing what CD you are listening you can say both driver CDs can be rob rock solo projects too. | |

| I love everything Rob has been involved with. The new Driver disc is really good and Rob really put his faith into the lyrics on this one. | |

| I'm with others who say his stuff is beginning to all sound the same. His solo records, especially Holy Hell, were the high point. Since then, most everything he's done sounds very similar to each other. I think part of the problem is Roy Z. He only knows how to write and play this style, and Rob is tethered to Roy. The only time you see a deviation from that is Fires of Babylon, which does sound at least a little different from the other RR stuff.
