| I have been invited to speak to a science class in a local charter public school on the topic "Should Intelligent Design/Creationism be taught in public schools"? Please pray that I will be lead by the Spirit as I speak. This will be on Wednesday from 10:30-11:15 MDT. |

| I hope so. I feel woefully underprepared, so that means that this will be God's show, not mine. I'm OK with that though. In fact, I prefer it.
Also, I found out today that a close friend's 16 year old daughter was in a very bad car accident yesterday. She is in intensive care in El Paso.
I spoke with him tonight, and he is distraught naturally, but the CT scan showed no sign of brain damage. There is some bruising and internal bleeding and a possible hairline fracture of the leg, but that is it so far.
The bad news is she is not responsive at all, and he is worried greatly about that.
Neither of them are believers. |

| I'll definitely be praying for the 16 year old's recovery. I also will be praying for you to have the wisdom to demonstrate why Intelligent Design should be taught in schools. I wish we all could have known about this sooner so maybe we could have pitched some ideas you might not have thought of. But, knowing how you like science, you probably have tons of material. Let us know how it goes. I believe, that if you go in God's strength, that it will be a blessed time for you. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. |

| Well, I was set to speak to the senior class, but the science teacher gave me the wrong time. I got to speak for a shorter period of time to the 9th grade class and got invited back to speak to the seniors on Monday! |

| I can understand your friends is worried about his daughter. Know here are people who pray for her. To pray for your friend's daughter is the best we can do. Keep us informed about her situation.
Good luck to prepare for what God shows you to speak for the seniors.
I always wondered what 9th graders are. I'm sure it's different in the US than here. Here kids start to go to school when they are 4 years old. That are the first two grades. Then when they are six years old the start reading and writing in the 3rd grade. When they leave elementary school they are in the 8th grade. High school starts with the first grade again. |

| Here is America, most children start school with kindergarten at 5 years old (there are preschool and head start programs that start earlier for some students). Then children go to school for at least twelve grades to graduate from high school, which is the minimum expected from a student. Ninth graders are usually about 14 years old.
The breakdown usually goes like this:
Elementary School: kindergarten-6th grades (5-11 years old) Junior High School: 7th-8th grades (12-13 years old) High School: 9th - 12th grades (14-18 years old)
Then there are Universities, which are optional, but recommended if you wish to enter a profession. |

| Hope it goes well for you. Creationism is the main thing that made me become a Christian (in human terms, anyway). Ken Ham and Kent Hovind were the two people who helped me in my walk. Kent has some really funny quotes like (regarding an evolutionary text book) - "They cut down a tree to print that" or "'This book says 'it' happened 300,000 years ago, plus or minus 300,000 years." or "I have three kids, one of each" or "This isn't my wife - this is just a picture of her". | It went really well. I did not think I did that great, but afterwards, the teacher (an ardent evolutionist) complimented me on the presentation, so maybe I was being to harsh on myself.
He had said the kids would be loaded for bear on the question and answer portion, but they were mostly silent. One kid who did ask some questions commented that he really could not argue against the science I presented. I gave them my e-mail address, so they could e-mail me with any questions that come up.
I'm really praying that this could lead to a more spiritual conversation, as I had to limit myself to strictly science in the classroom. |

| Yes sometimes we can be our own worst critic. I wouldn't be to worried that you didn't get many questions. You probably left them with a lot to think about. Hopefully you have planted the seeds for them to see past the evolution rethoric, and see the truth of God's creation. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| As long as you gave the kids facts, then you have done plenty, TT. By arming them with the truth, God can & will use this to draw them to Jesus. It is great that you gave out your e-mail for a follow up. Many large youth ministries like Acquire The Fire and others leave all follow up in the hands of the local churches. Sometimes those churches aren't equipped to do follow up. Just be there to answer any questions, and pray that the Holy Spirit will guide these kids into the truth of God's word. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. |
