Cool old Metal Witnessing T-Shirts

So, yes, I'm still editing the HM magazines (the project that would never end), and I came across this ad page for these cool shirts. They're knock offs from popular metal shirts of the day... how many of you owned the original shirts of the original bands ? I had the Maiden one.

It would be cool to have those shirts now!

I had a few Iron Maiden shirts but not the one that shirt is based on.

I want those!!

My brother has this shirt by As They Sleep (somewhere in the death metal area, I guess). The OP reminded me of it:

Over at "another" board, people were speaking lowly of these shirts, that we shouldn't lower ourselves to cheesy parodies of secular designs.... I say PHOOEY !!! I dig them !

 I noticed that, sometimes I wonder about peoples motivation for their criticism.
Personally I don't find them "cheesy", I kind of see them as mocking popular culture/consumerism.

I say if you like it, then wear it.  I used to buy a bunch of Christian t shirts and many of them were parody shirts.  I just don't do it nowadays because they cost so much and they don't really carry my size at the local bookstores.  But, the shirts at the top, I'd wear them if they were in my size.

I'm glad I'm not alone on this - I think the shirts are way cool.

If I had extra time, I'd draw out some of those designs and maybe some of my own designs, have tshirts printed in all sizes and just give them away.
Maybe someday when I don't have so much on my plate.

if I ever get the money I'd like to have shirts like those (and kerusso type shirts) to wear everyday.

 I can see it that way as well, but I just wish Christians would set the standards whether it is music or art and not just repeat or rehash what the secular world is doing.

If you want a couple metal looking ones that aren't parodies, I have the "thief" one from this company. They mostly do stuff for Christian death metal bands I believe.

I'd wear any of those 4 you posted, too. Of course, most are so old, today's kids wouldn't even know they are parodies.
