Ok CHMers, spill....

How much of your hard earned cash do you spend each year on Music Cds ?

......Ok, approximately ?

I tally at a little over $300 bucks per year on original albums.
(I'm not sure if that's something to be proud of or ashamed of ??)

For the last 3 or 4 years I was probably spending around $400 a year. This year I have spent considerably less. Probably less that $150.

Yep. Maybe 4 new ones. The few I have bought I often get used via Ebay. I've gotten all my Christmas ones over the years that way.

I don't want to think about it, either. But I would guess it would be upwards of that $300 mark.

4 x $15.00 = $60.00 x 4 = $240.00 x 12 = $2,880.00 a year.

I suppose if I actually did buy everything for my show I'd be close to 7th Second as I have 800+ titles after 4 years.

7th, that's what I'd call an addiction.

Let me explain. I went from 1998 to 2004 without listening to any secular music. Because of that I've had to rebuy many many many of my old albums again. That is one reason I've bought as much as I have up to now. Now that I've about caught up I do plan to curtail my spending a little. Because I like such a wide variety of music, mostly harder stuff though, in both Christian and secular it will probably still be 2 cd's a week even now. Heck that's still 50% less then what I'm spending now though. I believe if Chris is honest he probably spends more then that. Hey there is lot worse stuff you can spend your money on. Besides with an hour and 20 minutes drive to work each way I need a lot of tunes.

Somewhere between $500 - $1,000 per year.

I buy aprox 3-5 discs per month.

You got that right! I used to spend that much each month on drugs and alcohol.

In my single days it was roughly......... 6 a month.

6 x 12 = 72.

call it $10 each......... $720.00 a year

Since I've been married it's roughly 6 a year.

making it $60.00

I don't think so. I do buy a lot, but I do a lot of price checking to get the lowest possible cost. Many times I can buy 2 CDs for about $20 by preordering or by using my Minister's Discount at our local Lifeway stores. I also get some stuff from Lala (a whopping $1.75 there) and also from used CD stores. Being near Nashville, it is not unusual to find brand new, still sealed discs in used CD store bins from the Christian rock scene for around $6. I've even bought a couple of discs that way BEFORE the release date.

I buy a lot, but I am also cheap. The less I spend per CD means the more I can buy overall.

But, those union wages do help tremendously!
