| A new study. I hope we all learn more about this topic but what I more hope is that we discuss respectfull with each other about this topic. If you don't agree with someone message that person to talk about it. To be honest I am not looking forward to this time. But I believe if we have to go through this tough time God will give us the strength to come through this. To start this study a scripture from Daniel. Daniel 9:24-27
| Quote: | 24 "Seventy 'sevens' are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy. 25 "Know and understand this: From the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there will be seven 'sevens,' and sixty-two 'sevens.' It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble. 26 After the sixty-two 'sevens,' the Anointed One will be cut off and will have nothing. The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed. 27 He will confirm a covenant with many for one 'seven.' In the middle of the 'seven' he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing of the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him. |

| End time stuff confuses me, as there's so many different interpretations. I can't get my head round some of the stuff, so I just basically leave it up to God. As to when the end will be, how about 27th November! That's when they're going to switch on that $6 billion experiment to try and reproduce how the big bang happened. They said there is a small chance (something like 1:50000000) that it will result in a black hole and destroy quite alot!...... | I'm kind of like Fundy. There are so many different takes on future prophecy, what's symbollic vs literal, etc. that I haven't studied it greatly. I think I should just so I have a better handle on it but I haven't taken the time yet this week to start into it. _________________ "If you are not concerned about your neighbor's salvation, you should be concerned about your own."

| I have read and studied end times prophecy quite a bit, but I am far from being an expert. As far as I see it, most of the different interpretations are theories at best. But, each should be carefully looked at so that the less plausible explanations can be laid to rest. The biggest split in the differing theories is that of a Pre-Tribulation vs. a Mid- or Post-Tribulation return of Jesus Christ. The church has, for a number of years held to the Pre-Trib view that is very nice and tidy. No one wants to think of having to endure any of the Tribulation. With this theory, we need to be living for Christ expecting Him to return at any second. With the Post-Trib view, Christians need to be living for Christ now, but be so convinced in their beliefs in the Lord that they are willing to die for Him. Literally. Unfortunately, the Pre-Trib crowd will not even speculate on this. I would hate to know that I was expecting Christ to return before the Tribulation and find out I was wrong. It would be enough to make a lot of Christians walk away from the faith. So, we need to look at each theory and just pray that we are counted worthy of the Kingdom of Heaven when all is said and done--whether we live to see the Tribulation or not. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. |

| What little I have studied (in the bible) leads me to believe there really isn't enough proof to support one view over another (typ Pre vs Post Trib). Just as long as I get to be with Jesus, either one is fine by me. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| I'm pre-trib, and Daniel's seventy weeks prophecy is a large part of the reason why.
If you want a classic work on the subject, I recommend The Coming Prince by Sir Robert Anderson. |
