| We all have parts in the Bible who are special to us. Sometimes because the words of the scriptures show you how God really is. Sometimes because it shows you that God know all your circumstances. Or there can be other reasons why some Bible scriptures are special for you. My favorite Bible scripture is Jeremiah 29:11 | Quote: | 11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
|
At a day two years ago God showed me this scripture to tell me something I needed to know. God opened my eyes for what He meant with these beautiful words. I wondered and all the problems then the stings I struggle with for years? Then I realized that the difficult things are not from God. God has good thoughts over me, yes even over me. He made plans to prosper me not to harm me. To give me hope. It brought the tears in my eyes.
What are your favorite scriptures and can you tell us why this scripture is special for you? |

| Because God's Word is living, a believer could have a different favorite verse everyday. But to narrow one down to an overall fav, I've always been partial to Romans 8:28-30 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified." It's always helped me to know that God is in charge of all things, and to trust that He will work any situation in my life to glorify Him, either now or in the future. And though nobody can fully grasp the whole predestination thing, I thank Him for being in charge of my own salvation and ultimate glorification... cuz I sure couldn't do it myself. |

| That Jeremiah verse was our wedding text! As for me, I like Romans 14 (great to keep the peace between waring factions!) Job 40 v 15 (Behold now behemoth! One of the verses that made me sit up and read the Bible properly) Genesis 1 (and the whole creation story) James (Top book! Love it all the way through. Some powerful stuff in there) Fundy _________________ My Christian Metal Website......... www.bbillett.freeserve.co.uk
Three Things for a better life... 1 - Believe In Jesus. 2 - Love one another. 3 - Let God be the judge. That is all I need to say.

| I have several favorites as well, and mine definately change all the time. But one of my perenial favorites is John 20:29 "Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." When I was very young and still not a Christian, someone I worked with gave me a small new testment bible and had underlined this verse to show the importance of having faith in God even though we cannot see him. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... | I'd say Isaiah 53. This passage always gets to my heart. The pain that Jesus went through for me is something my heart just weeps at. |
