Favorite song from Petra-This Means War! (1987)

Here's where it really starts to get good for me. I really love Kenaniah but I'm going with the title track as my favorite here. Awesome, awesome album.

Now we're talkin'! I got to hear This Means War live before it was released. It kicked some serious butt! I think it's my favorite of off this album though the whole album is a gem.

All are great but somehow All the King's Horses sticks in my head so I voted for it.

This Means War is a great tune, but the message of Get On Your Knees is the best on the CD.

Probably my favorite Petra album, and contains my 2nd favorite Petra song of all time - "You Are My Rock". Musically and lyrically, this song is at the top of the hill of songs written by Bob Hartman. The keyboard intro has a melancholy feel and John's voice just seems huge in this song. When the band kicks in full force on the second half of each verse before the chorus, it is powerful. It also boasts a very aggressive, if too short, guitar solo from Bob. Put all of this on the cannon-like drums this album featured, and it is very nearly a perfect song.

Other favorites here for me would include the title track, Kenaniah and Dead Reckoning. But really, the entire album is stellar!

When I saw the title of this poll, my mind instantly went with "He Came, He Saw, He Conquered". I'm going with that track.

I listened to this album this afternoon for just this reason. I was all ready to go with the title track, but "He Came, He Saw, He Conquered" stole me away.

Went with All The King's Horses, although the title track came close.

I went with The Water Is Alive. I like the riff on that one

I went with the title track, but there are many good songs on this album. I easily could have also picked "He Came, He Saw..., or Kenaniah.

Kenaniah....

a great album but way way way way too much drum machine for me... the songs were really memorable
