Yesterday was possibly the coldest day of the year so far. There was no cloud cover so all the warm air (or what was even close to warm air) went straight up from the ground to make the night freezing.
Anyway, every Thursday evening I go mountain biking up on the South Downs (rolling hills just north of the town where I live) and I was thinking maybe we should call it off because of the weather. But we decided we'd still go but wrap up warm. I ended up with having 5 layers on and was still quite cold at the start!
We got to the top of the downs and turned out lights off and looked up at the sky. That's when we realised it was worth going out on a night like that. The stars were out in abundance and the crescent moon was a fiery orange - just those 10 minutes looking up at the sky made both myself and my friend be in total awe of God's creation.
Such an amazing sight - the sort of thing that really bolsters your faith.
Just thought I'd share.
