| Thursday night we head to Primm Nevada to stay at a casino hotel, then Friday night I'm taking my wife and Mom to a concert... a country concert. Now I'll be brave enough to admit I enjoy quite a bit of the modern country these days (since it's no longer twangy and Mutt Lange has had a huge influence in the industry - for the good), and I love a good concert. That said, I only know 2 of their songs, and the rest all sound pretty much the same ( a statement I could hear my wife saying with regards to my heavy metal).... but I'm hopin' for a good time. Like I said, I love a good concert.... I've sat through Megadeth, Beatlemania, Guardian, Crystal Lewis, Skillet, Randy Stonehill, Ozzy Osbourn, DCTalk.... so my concert tastes are very eclectic.... and.... I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy this too. | |

| Me too. | and exorcism ! I love the time with my wife and esp my Mom right now as she's really getting up there in years and I wanna appreciate every day I can spend with here.... but country music can get a little painful after a while. Like I said, I enjoy a few songs here and there, but an entire concert ? Oh my, oh my, oh my.... | |

| Oh Gar, you would. If your wife was dead-set on going to a country concert and wanted you with her, you'd bite the bullet and take her. | |

| Thanks Xid ! Should be a blast.
A friend of mine wants me to go see Demon Hunter with him, but it's on a Wednesday and I don't think I can do a 2 hour drive down and back on a work night (my back would be screaming louder than my vox -haha)

| Dude, just put your iPod in your pocket, run the ear buds up the inside of your shirt and when you can't take it, put them in and crank some Aunt Bettys! Or whoever you prefer... | |

| My town has a country station, and nearly everyone listens to it. Unfortunately, we don't have a rock station anymore. | |

| You guys crack me up !
Yes Vonnie, I'm going to return with a huge cowboy hat, chewing tobacco, and become interested in trucks, beer, tractors and chewing on long sticks of hay.
To prepare for this concert, I am slapping the back of my neck as hard as I can to get it super red... hope it helps.

I at least got her listening to some Christian pop rock that we could agree on. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

My first girlfriend liked pop-country and whenever we'd be in HER car... we'd listen to Rascal Flats and Taylor Swift and Brad Paisley. It was miserable. For your own well-being and sanity, I highly recommend not even entertaining the thought of dating/marrying/boinking a country fan.

You get back your wife, your house, your dog, and your truck.

| Um, I think musical tastes are pretty low on the list whilst dating and seeking a lifelong mate.
Not to downplay the importance of having much in common, but music (though it's nice to have a mate with similar musical tastes) is pretty low on the check-list. Same beliefs, goals, political views, etc.. those are of utmost importance in seeking a potential spouse.
When Lisa and I became friends, what drew us together first was our mutual love for the same True God of Scripture - we developed a great friendship with our faith as the center of our universe. Everything else was a distant second. At the time she was very into country music, but the more she listened to the CCM I played, the more she got into it. And this metal-head began listening to her country tunes in her car, I began to enjoy some of the songs she played.
Sooooo, if you whip out a slide-guitar, banjo and twang away - I'll barf... but if you turn on a contemporary country song, I may just enjoy it... not enough to go buy an album, but enough to not dismiss all country music as horrible.
Oh and btw, this concert I was not looking forward to - ROCKED !!! The male singer belted out Queen's Fat Bottomed Girl for fun -sounded great ! Then when they introduced each member, they'd play their respective instrument -The Fiddle player did Iron Maiden's Run to the Hills, the drummer did Tom Sawyer !! These "kids" rocked out some old classic rock songs - it was very cool. My wife was so happy for me that I got some classic rock and some occasional shredding guitar solos... I loved it !

| My wife likes Country and I don't hold it against her. She tolerates my Hard Rock/Metal now and again and she even likes some of it. We're good. | |
