You shoulda made the camera person back up....... or maybe not, looks like there may not have been a lot of room.

I was the camera person, but, no, there was very little margin for error and the consequences would have been final.

I'm always impressed when people can take a decent picture of themselves (with or without someone else). I have a hard enough time doing it when I can actually look through the lens.

I'll never by another camera without a rotating screen. It's still hard to do well in some conditions (eg, bright light), but I've come pretty close on every self-portrait so far.

Now it's my turn to show pics of my vacation in Switzerland.

I will post more.

This is the Breithorn with his white snow head. Here climb alpinists very early in the morning to the top and walk down. Very impressive to see black sticks on the mountain and notice it are people.






This is the Allalin as you see it's pretty white here even in summer. This is the wintersport region of Switzerland. We have seen a lot of skiers.

This is the Little Matterhorn, the higest place where you can go in Switzerland.
It was cold and you really notice you are so high because you have to walk very slowly.





This is the most characteristic mountains of Switzerland. Yep this mointain is famous.

This is in the biggest Ice Cave in the world.
The cave is in a glacer and it's very cold inside.
This is the brother of Mickey Mouse, but he was so naughty that they moved him from Disney World to this ice cave.

It looks like some idiot is about to start an avalanche on the right side of the Breithorn. The Matterhorn just looks painful.

Wow that some impressive looking mountain pictures. Just beautiful.

I'm having a hard time understanding why anyone would purposely go on "vacation" where it is cold. Makes a grand total of NO SENSE to me...

The little black things you see on the Breithorn were mountainclimbers.
I was very impressed to see the walking so high in the snow.

The Matterhorn is a "climber killer".
I have been on the English cemetry in Zermatt amd saw the graves of many climbers who died on the Matterhorn.

Well Yvonne, isn't the only one who gets to climb on pretty mountains. Yesterday my oldest son (he is in 5th grade) and I went with his church youth group to hike on Mount Rainier. We did'nt summit the large volcano, but we did get to play in some snow, and work our legs. We even saw a few curious rodents called "marmots" (they looked like ground-hogs to me, but I guess they are more closely related to squirrels)

The marmots are cute and they make sounds to each other to warn each other.

How funny is it to walk in the snow in summer.

Yes the marmots are very vocal, and curious about people too.
It is fun to walk in the snow in the summer. It was almost 90 degrees (almost 32 degrees celcius) and it felt good to throw snowballs at each other.
We had a very good time. We are going back in a few weeks with the rest of our family.

I would love to go back to Switzerland.
