PostSubject: Recovery   Fri Jun 05, 2015 5:45 pm

Yesterday, I started seeing a therapist. Today, I got to talk to my doctor about meals. I'm gonna try to incorporate snacks right now. I tried it today, which is really exciting. I'm scared, but excited all at once.

In case anyone's wondering, I'm still in recovery right now. It's really hard and sometimes I really don't feel like it. I've had some little victories and times when I'm just hating myself. Generally, I'm going in the right direction. This really is a fight, though. Thank you for praying for me.

My next therapist appointment is on Monday. I really enjoy talking to her.

Now, we're in Virginia. I'm not used to the accent. Today went pretty well. Tomorrow will be interesting. Smile I want to use this trip as an opportunity to push myself in my recovery.

Even from someone who lives in the south, Virginia accents are a bit different.  I have family that lives there and I even stayed with them during my sophomore year of school.  They sounded more like the deep south plantation owners you hear in movies there.  Well, in Roanoke anyway.  If you moved up to Richmond, you heard a lot of different accents as you were close to D.C. and there was a huge melting pot of people there.

You can do this.  I envy your issues a little with food.  I wish I did not want to eat.

Yeah Virginia and the Carolina's have more of that antebellum, molasses drawl than other southern places do.

Yeah. Now we're in NC. I hear that drawl you guys are talking about. When people say nine it sounds like naan. It's cute to me.

Alldat, trust me, you don't want to have this issue. You need to eat. Not eat eating enough messes up your body. I've had days when I've barely had enough energy to stand and I had to pause to catch my breath when putting on a belt. I've gone to bed with a stomachache because I refused to eat a snack. I feel guilty whenever I eat. I do it because I need to live. I have visit my doctor and therapist often and my therapist wants me to visit a nutritionist. Not eating enough will cause you to think about food a lot. You'll fantasize about food that you're afraid to eat. A lot of men report having less/no sex drive. Most of the times I exercise, I think about calories burned. I'm afraid of gaining weight. Not eating enough is also bad for your organs, including your brain. My hunger and fullness cues are weird to me and I have a disordered and skewed view of food. To me, a big apple or a whole orange is a lot. 260 calories sounds like a big meal. There are so many things. I could go on and on. Trust me, you don't want to go through this.

Loved the accents in North Carolina.  I lived there for 2-1/2 years.  Have a fun trip and try to remember to eat even if you don't feel hungry.

Thank you.

It's so hot here. Smile Now, we're heading to Georgia. I really want to enjoy myself. I'm really nervous because I don't want anyone to comment on my size or food portions or to ask me a bunch of questions. I understand that I haven't seen them in a while, but I really don't like it.

We're gonna have dinner at one of my aunt's house. I have no idea what she's making or what she has at her house. *internally screaming*

Try to think of it as an adventure (like Indiana Jones) and your mission is to take at least two-bites of everything to make it through the Temple of Food!

I had corn, meat, greens, and cherries. I haven't has meat in a while so my body is reacting negatively.

Will that happen every time I eat meat? Is it bad if I eat meat? It was kinda scary when that happened earlier.
