| With my personal remastering of my older out of print music, I have run into a snag. I have a couple of demos by Plain Clothes that I transferred from cassettes to CD-R several years ago. My copy of Plain Clothes' "All Dressed Up" no longer plays right. There are a lot of pops and cracks that were not there. This is a classic case of CD-R loss of signal that has rendered this disc unplayable.
I have shared this album with a few of you several years back. Does your copy still play? If so, can I get new copies of this out of print album in 320 kps to replace my files? Someone send it to me, please, so that these tunes are not lost forever. There were not many copies of those cassettes, and I doubt many copies of the CD-R made from those exist, either.
What kind of music were they? Musically, they were a glam/hair metal band. However, the vocalist/lead guitarist had a lower range voice than most from that era. The band was a 3 piece, but I have never been able to find out anything from them online. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| I remember you giving me a digital copy years ago, but I have to confess that I lost it in the big computer crash of '09. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| Hmmm... I had a similar situation with a CD-R that my brother made for me. I tried several other ripping programs and I finally got one to rip it without any "noise". I don't remember which one, it may have been Winamp. And, if I do get noise on some of them (not skips, but noise) sometimes I can remove it by putting the file in Audacity or Cool Edit Pro and deleting the pop or click without affecting the music. | |

| I may try ripping this with my laptop. Sometimes that helps when the desktop has trouble reading something. If that works, then this old classic is saved. If it doesn't, then I will see if Yvonne has her copy I made for her. I just hate to see something like this lost forever.

| Checked the computer and all the places I have CDs. But I can't find Plain Cloths files or CDs. Sorry I'm not able to help you. | |
