Christians ! Wanna do this ??

I'd be willing to do this, but I will have to sit down tonight and build the goal list.

I'm in but will have to build my list a bit later.

I won't post a goal list.
But all who post a goallist in this thread can count on my prayer to really do the things on your goal list.

I've been in a funk for so many years, using my condition as an excuse for bad behavior and complacency. But the entire time, in my spirit, I knew I was trying to justify spiritual laziness, as well as giving in to bitterness and anger. 
Our Father is SO patent with His kids - I do not deserve chance number 7,936... or was it 7,937 ? Hmm, can't remember 

But in all seriousness, The Bible's clear that we children should never allow a root of bitterness. I have not only allowed a root, I've been watering that root and nurturing it. Not cool. And here's the thing, it's a "timing thing". Had a well-meaning believer approached me about "snapping out" of this funk and repenting ? I would not have taken it well... at all. Clear up to just last week, I was not ready in myself to have a change of heart and allow God to work in me. Only just recently have I felt a moving of the Spirit in me. I believe this is because that stage in my life was necessary to go thru and experience as part of my personal learning and training. We're all at different stages in our walks (that's why I tend to dislike anyone finger-pointing whatsoever - the "pointer" has NO idea what that believer is going through).

So, again, thanks ! Let's take this ride together 

I should definitely do this.  Both the list and praying for you all.  Going to have to mull this one over a bit.

Ok, here are my three goals:

1.  Spending more time meditating and waiting on God.  I can Bible study the crap outta anything, but I have a really hard time listening for God.
2.  Be more present in whatever I'm doing.  I have a really bad tendency to be distracted from whatever I'm doing by other things I want/need to do.
3.  Be more intentional in my relationships.  'Nuff said.

Good stuff Messiaen77 ! As I said in my other thread, some are self-will goals, others are obtained over time.  ALL of us, esp me, need to spend more time in His Presence, praying, meditating, and listening for His leading. This is something we need to discipline ourselves to do - set aside just a short 5 minutes right now after you've read this. Use 5 short minutes to focus ONLY on Him.

I too have a super distracted ADHD mind... it's near impossible for me to even watch TV unless I have a couple projects going at the same time. (For me, some of it is my pain. If I don't purposely distract my mind, then I pay too much attention to the pain. So distractions help me focus on something different)
The only way I can personally keep focused on a study or reading or praying, is to do it out loud. Otherwise my mind goes everywhere in the world but where I want to be. Hearing out loud what I'm reading or praying helps me to focus better.

After you force yourself to do 5 minutes a day with Jesus for a couple days, increase your time slowly, and allow yourself to get lost with time - as some days you're doing "10 minutes" you'll find you've done a half hour, or maybe you only did 5 minutes again - DOESN'T matter ! He wants our time. 

I will often put my laptop down or my CDs or whatever I'm doing and I will and just focus on what my wife is doing and ask her if she wants to play scrabble or whatever. This means the world to her. I'm focusing on HER, and not on myself. God wants this as well. He is jealous ya know   and wants our attention.  

I'm not here to remedy everyone's lists, but I do feel God's leading to share what is helping me. 
I've set aside all guilt for whatever I haven't done in the past, and I've been taking baby steps to get where I need to be. It's working, and I praise God for it !

5 minutes. God is eternal. He's not gonna be upset cuz you didn't spend more than 5 minutes with Him today - just try to increase the time each day. It's working wonders in my life !
