Dan Cummins - "Storm"

Does anyone remember the Chapel Hill, North Carolina based act named Delorean that in 2004 put out its progressive hard rock debut "Dauntless" before following up several years later with sophomore release "Edge Of Existence".

I just discovered that Delorean guitarist Dan Cummins last week released his second solo album "Storm".  Musically, it is more hard rock in comparison to Delorean but does not forsake the artists progressive based roots.

Also note how it took 3 to 4 listens for his material to grow on me.

I have their second album (Edge of Existence), and I like it for the most part, even though I am not really a huge fan of the progressive stuff.
Going to have to check this out.

Pretty good but are most of those instrumentals? Only 3 clips had vox. I see Stardust does, too.

Album has two instrumental tracks, but a good portion of many of the vocal songs are instrumental.

I like the style.  With only two songs clocking in at 7 and 12 minutes, I may still check this out.  I can always skip those if I don't like them.

If you want the album downloads of his new project, they are 50 cents cheaper on Amazon.  I found a previous album "Leviathan" on eMusic for $6.49.

Prog Rock!!!  Not enough with a Christian point of view imo... but then most of it is probably obscure... i.e.  I've no clue who are how to find it...!!

In terms of lyrics, "Storm" is an autobiographical concept album that (as taken from the artists press material) 'was written during a personal journey through some tough times with relationships, mental illness, doubts, faith etc.  While not an overly religious work, the themes are heavily influenced by my Christian worldview".

Dan Cummins here, I found this thread because it was late and I was googling to see how my album was tracking over the internet.  Anyway, thanks so much for the kind words.  I really appreciate it.  It's also nice to know our old Delorean albums are still getting love. I'll be sure to pass that on to the guys.  

"Storm" was a big thing for me personally as well as musically, so I'm really happy you guys are enjoying it. It's not really a concept album in the sense that there's a story, but each song is a different emotion/perspective on a rough personal experience and it was very cathartic to put all those feelings out into songs.
