PostSubject: Uncertain Times, Washington Edition   Sat Dec 17, 2016 3:21 pm

It's been a bit of a rough year for the Staybrite family.  I was hospitalized in April for nearly a week (and racked up over 10K in medical expenses....just my portion).  A few months ago my daughter had a falling out with her "common law husband" and moved back in with us for a month (bringing our two grandsons with her).  She ended up back together with her boyfriend and has since moved back out (but I seriously don't expect it to last).

My wife had a total hysterectomy in November and was forced to take 6 weeks off without pay.  She was due to go back to work this coming Monday but was called into the facility earlier this week and basically got rail-roaded into quitting (effective immediately).  Her medical leave left our meager savings rather drained, and now she has to find a new job (to take up the gap in the budget).  She is rather bummed because she had no indication from ownership that anything was wrong with her performance.  In a year-and-a-half she never had an official performance evaluation and she passed every state inspection during that time.  Fortunately she is eligible for unemployment, but will need to find a new job after Christmas.

Feeling a little sorry for us right now.

Praying for you. And I suspect that the person they hire to replace your wife will be incompetent, rude and make them wish she was back.

Is a surgery and six weeks not able to work a reason to fire your wife?
It still think they made a mistake.

They put her assitant in the position (90% sure she is the one who stabbed my wife in the back)...and she is already having trouble.  I'm guessing it's just a matter of time before they have to find someone else.

Thanks again for the prayers everyone, it is greatly appreciated.

They didn't let her go because she had to take time off for a medical problem (they wouldn't have done that, it is illegal here in the U.S. and they could have been sued).  Instead they got another employee to report several lies about her, making it look like she didn't know how to do her job.

So the person that they replaced her with is maybe the person that threw all the shade about her?

So what makes them think she's going to be honest and have integrity once she's promoted?

I don't expect an answer, just thinking out loud here.

Well the owner has a history of making rash snap judgments....sometimes for the worst.  We should have expected it.  We had several foster children who attended the daycare's after school program and it seemed like the management changed there once every year to year and a half.  My wife was in the director's position for just about a year and a half....so apparently she lasted about the maximum limit.

Which just means God has something great in store for her soon.

My wife is thinking about getting re-trained to be a CNA (certified nurses assistant).  She used to be a Physical Therapist Assistant (has the AA degree to go with it) but hasn't worked in that field for about 20 years (so her license is expired).
The interesting part is that the starting wage for CNA's is comparable to what she was making as the director for a 100 student daycare facility.

Thanks guys (and gals).

She signed up for a 3 week course that starts in about a week, and my oldest son (who seriously lacks direction) is going to take it with her.
