Living Like a Runaway - Lita Ford
(not for the faint of heart, Lita was a very naughty girl with a filthy mouth....yikes!  Fortunately she wasn't too graphic)

It is, but it is a book about evangelism with a unique twist.  The author was a pastor in Nashville at the time and his wife built this ministry about feeding and caring for strippers.  They have seen many girls come to follow Jesus and get out of the industry.  The book is to help us think of ways to truly do servant evangelism where we may do something social for someone but also back it with the word of God.  Jesus had the same modus operandi.

After I finished the Elfstones of Shannara, I took a break from the trilolgy and read Long Way Gone by Charles Martin.  Now I'm on the Wishsong of Shannara.

Rescuing The Gospel From The Cowboys - Richard Twiss

A Lakota Native discusses syncretism and Indigenous relations with Westernized Christianity. Good book for self-examination and for getting the ideas and goals of intercultural ministry. My theology prof from Bible school lent me his personal copy, which he hasn't read it, and told me to mark down my thoughts in it.

I love reading Charles Martin books!  I have devoured every novel he's done.  I love how he gives you characters that feel like you should know them and puts them in places common enough that you feel that you might run into them someday.  He doesn't go overly descriptive with locales, but he gives you enough that should you ever go to one of the places in the book that you will just know you've been there in the pages of the book.  His portrayal of downtown Nashville and the music industry is spot on.  I've been to those places and it feels like Mr. Martin spent time here wandering the streets and getting to know the city.

That's the only book of his I've read thus far.  I really enjoyed it and felt like I was in the street in Nashville even though I've never been there.
