PostSubject: Not going to finish this week as planned   Sat Jan 05, 2008 4:50 pm

I had really planned to finish mixing the rest of the CD this week before returning to work. But, it just isn't going to happen. Why? Is it a lazy streak preventing this from happening? It is the hustle of the holidays? Partly, but there are other reasons: two of the songs are going to have to have parts re-recorded.

The song "Surrender" is going to need the bass retracked. What the rhythm guitar and drums are doing are great, but my bass track seems out of time. I need to simplify the verses. I hope to do this and mix it on Wednesday.

The song "I'd Do It All Again" seriously needs the lead guitar redone. What I thought sounded great when I recorded it now sounds bad. The song has kind of a John Cougar feel to it, and I am just trying to put too much lead guitar to it. I need to simplify the leads.

Bummer, very understandable though.
Don't send it to be mastered unless you are compeltely happy with it.

Staybrites right, don't send it until you're completely happy with it.

Who's doing the cover art for the new album?

It's good you take the time to work on both songs till they sound like you think they have to sound.
What you have to improve to both songs is not a lot of work I think?
You are so close now, only two songs you have to improve.
I hope you have on Wednesday the time to work more on the songs.

Good luck when you have the time to work on "Surrender" and "
I'd Do It All Again".
Hope it goes smoothly and the songs get a killer bass track and a lead guitar track.
