When did Amazon up their shipping for CD's???

So for a long time, if you bought a used cd at Amazon (which I usually do), the shipping was $2.99. Then about 18 months ago, they raised it to $3.99. Okay fine.

Today, I go to order a cd with a gift card I got over the weekend (yay! Finally have Bob Dylan's gospel trilogy) and the shipping now is $4.99! Five bucks to ship a cd priced at $0.11!

What the crap!!

I just ordered two used cds from Amazon sellers this weekend and only paid $3.99 to ship (ha "only", that's still too much).  It could be they charged you a dollar more because it was a 3-cd set?

No - after reading some apparently it went into effect today. I wouldn't mind but send an email to your customers at least.

It's to the point I'd rather order from Discogs. You can communicate with the seller easier and the shipping is usually about $3.

That really sucks. I used to love buying those 1 cent albums and paying 3 or 4 bucks total. But 5 bucks is way too much.. wonder how they justify it ?

Tell me about it. I bought Dylan's Shot of Love for $0.01 but with shipping it was $5. The only reason I bought it was because Discogs didn't have it cheaper and I had the gift card.

Well if it's $5 a disc now, then I will probably be done buying from 3rd party Amazon sellers.

Hmm. I have Prime so I only order stuff that is listed as Prime, free shipping and here in 2 days or less.

I just ordered and it shows the shipping as $3.99 still

Mostly I do as well.  Occasionally, I will order from third party sellers through Amazon for something used, but that is becoming more rare.  I pretty much have everything I'd want in older releases.

So in a strange turn of events, I checked today and it's still $3.99. I need to figure out why I paid an extra buck for the one though...
