Rosanna's Raiders reissue

That is great customer service. Another good reason to be happy with Retroactive. Certainly one of my favorite labels.

I was listening to the CD with Rosanna's two label releases. What I was amazed at was the growth in Rosanna Palmer's guitar playing. On the first album, her leads were very minimalistic and, quite frankly, boring. But, by the time the 2nd album came out, she was wailing on the thing! So, either Rosanna took some lessons and did a lot of practicing, or she had someone do the lead guitar solos for her.

I wholeheartedtly agreed about Rosanna's playing. As a matter of fact, the band made a big step musically from "Calling Down Fire" to "Clothed In Fire".

Well my copy of this album(s) finally came today, and I am happy to say it included both discs.
I must agree that the entire "Clothed in Fire" album is a serious improvement over "Calling Down Fire". (not that CDF was bad at all).
I am really glad I picked this up.

Well it probably arrived on Friday or Saturday (at my office). But this is the first day that our receptionist has checked the mail, since Thur or Friday.

I often have cds I've ordered sent to my office beacause it is more secure than my mailbox at home. But mostly because I listen to 90% of my music at work anyway.

Somewhere someone said the albums included in this release are 'Clothed In Fire' 'Calling Down Fire' and Rosanna's solo album 'Changes'. This isn't true. It's actually the two 'Fire' albums and earlier demos.

I then realised that no one had said 'Changes' was on the reissue! I think I must have been half asleep!

The 2nd disc (which I still don't have) is an early self-produced album by Rosanna's Raiders called "We Are Raiders".

It would have been nice to have disc two carry that AND Rosanna's solo project, however.

I got the 2nd disc in the mail today. I'm giving it a spin right now. I like the songs, but they are a little more keyboard dependent, and the lead guitar is almost nonexistent.

Ok, so I dont have any clue who Rosanna's Raiders are. Could someone give me a little info. I would be very greatfull.

Don't feel bad Fundy I remember seeing somewhere that the second disc was supposed to be Rosanna's solo disc as well (but it is indeed the Raiders demo from 1985).

So I noticed that the demo disc has a misprint on the track list. It appears that 12 tracks are listed on the jacket, but only 11 are on my cd. The second song listed "Reflections" is not actually on the disc.

Drums: Rosanna's Raiders was a hard rock band in the mid to late 1980's and they were/are from Austrailia (the really large island continent below the equator, not the Germanic country next to Switzerland). Agelic Warlord had the answer on my question who Rosanna's Raiders are.

You should probably check them out, Vonnie. This is definitely early 80's hard rock. Rosanna's got a great voice, and this would appeal to anyone who liked Heart or Pat Benetar in the 70's or 80's.

That's what I did before I was sick.
I will take the time to listen to Rosanna's Raiders again.
Sometimes I need to listen more times before I really like an album.

Now I finally have a Rosanna's Raiders mood.
Needed to listen a few times to this band.

You might want to play that again. The song IS on the disc, but it is part of track one. Seems like they missed setting a proper track marker for that one. All 12 songs are correctly there.

Ahhhhh I see, I will have to give that a closer listen.
