PostSubject: Buying A New House   Wed Jan 16, 2008 9:37 pm

Yes, it is official- I am finally taking the step into home ownership (and all that travails!). In all seriousness, escrow closes at the end of the month, which is approaching much faster than expected. Irregardless, I am very excited and looking forward to making the move (particularly since I have been living in a small, cramped apartment since moving to Phoenix several years ago).

The key words, nevertheless, are "making the move" in that I know how time consuming (and stressful) moving can be. My main concern at this point is maintaining Angelic Warlord throughout the moving process. Looks like I am going to have to accept the fact I will have no other choice but to set the site aside for a couple of weeks. Also, another concern is that once I make the move and get all my computer equipment hooked up again that everything will work as it should when I turn the switch back on.

Thanks,

Andy

Well, I hope your move is uneventful. I can't stand moving (myself or other people). Welcome to home ownership, enjoy the tax deduction, and all the other fun that comes with it.

Don't worry about Angelic Warlord. The fans will be there when you get back. Just be sure and post about your moving adventure when you next update the site. That let's the fans get to know you a little--not just the music.

Praise God for the new house!

Your (or mine at least) biggest concern will be internet. If you're using DSL it normally takes a week to make a switch. That seems utterly ridiculous to me and I've never heard any reason as to why. Just had a friend move to a diff apt in the same building (50 ft away) and he was out for a week. Crazy. It should be a 5 minute job if that in the central office.

Thanks everyone for the encouraging words. Right now I have a lot of packing and preparing to do- so the best thing is to take it one day at a time.

This is sound advise. And a good idea to post about the move during the next update to Angelic Warlord (at least let everyone know what is going on). Come to think of it, since launching the site a couple of summers ago I have only talked about music but nothing to let the people who visit the site know anything about me (the designer and administrator). But maybe that is because my life is so mundane:

1. Spend all day at work
2. Come home from work and stay up late (sometimes really late!) working on Angelic Warlord
3. Never go out on dates. Ever!

LOL! In all seriousness, it is a labor of love that I consider more of a calling than a job or hobby (though in essence it is all three).

Thanks again,

Andy

Good thing you're not married (I hope) or you wouldn't be for much longer. Razz

See, shows how little we know about Andy. For some reason I thought he was married.

Andy, very cool you belong now to the club of "house owners."
Good luck with all you have to do for the move.
Hope it all goes well, and you have soon internet to work on your wonderful Angelic Warlord site.
It's important you can sleep, eat, shower first.
My advice for the move is:
Do each day what you can do, the rest has to wait till tomorrow or later.
